Our tutors and staff in Calgary Southeast consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Calgary know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Centre Director

    As Centre Director, Alison spends most of her day meeting with parents and overseeing the educational integrity of our programs. As a former teacher in South Korea, Alison has a passion for teaching and connecting with youth. When Alison isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her enjoying walks in nature, and spending time with her rescue dog Minu.

    Director of Education


    Catherine oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in S.E. Calgary. She has worked with Sylvan since 2013. A former High School Social Studies and English teacher, Catherine brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan. She graduated from the University of Calgary. When Catherine isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, gaming, cross-stitching, and cheering for the Blue Jays!!  She enjoys spending time with her husband John and their cat Stella.

    Pam

    Teacher

    Pam was a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Elementary Education program. She loves to teach division, reading fluency, phonics, and watching the writing students progress. When she is not at Sylvan, Pam is hiking, camping, traveling, playing soccer, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and cross-stitching. Make sure you ask her about her travels, especially her time climbing Mount Kilimanjaro!

    Teacher

    Jennifer’s passion has always been working with young people. Since earning her Education and Science degrees from the University of Lethbridge she has been able to teach within the classroom and be in other educational roles. Working at Sylvan has allowed her to spend time with her young son, while also helping the students who attend to overcome obstacles. Outside of Sylvan, she is often playing with her son, reading, and gaming.

    Teacher

    Krystal has been in Education for over 25 years. She brings a wealth of knowledge with personalizing learning for students as she is also a Resource Lead in the public school system. Seeing students grow and discover effective strategies that work for their learning profile is Krystal's passion. In her spare time, she enjoys walking in Fish Creek Park and is an avid reader. Did you know that she wrote 3 children's books?
