Angela Russell

Executive Director / Owner

Angela is the Executive Director and Centre Owner. She has extensive business management expertise in Education and is focused on making all the centres in the area run smoothly. Angela is also responsible for ensuring Sylvan’s high operating standards are met and that parents and students enjoy the maximum benefits from their Sylvan experience.

Rita Cruickshank

Centre Director, Courtice & Clarington Area and Richmond Hill

While Rita has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading tutoring. She studied at Sir Sandford Fleming College and George Brown College. When Rita isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her watching her children play sports and/or playing some baseball in the summer herself.

Pat

Lead Teacher

While Pat has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She studied at Bowling Green State University and York University and Glendon College when she moved to Canada. When Pat isn’t at Sylvan you’ll find her on the baseball diamond, volleyball court, or babysitting her three grandsons.

Chris

Teacher

While Chris has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in Math tutoring. He studied at McMaster University. When Chris isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing tennis, basketball or cooking.

Liam

Teacher

Liam is a teacher with Sylvan Learning Durham, with a gift for working with kids. While Liam has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in tutoring Mathematics. He studied at York University. When Liam isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing video games, going on walks, and reading old textbooks.  .

Jessica

Teacher

While Jessica has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in tutoring students in early literacy and beginning reading skills. She studied at the Univeristy of Ottawa. When Jessica isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading a good book or playing outside with her 2 children.

Erin Marshall

Teacher

While Erin has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in language tutoring. She studied at Trent University and Queen’s University. When Erin isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her going for walks, spending time with family and friends, or embroidering.

Jenn

Teacher

While Jenn has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in history tutoring. She studied at Trent University. When Jenn isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her swimming, hiking and War of 1812 historical re-enacting.

Rohit

Teacher

While Rohit has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. He studied at UOIT. When Rohit isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him studying physics.

Christine

Teacher

While Christine has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in history tutoring. She studied at Trent University. When Christine isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her exploring the outdoors, cooking and watching movies.

Amie

Teacher

While Amie has many tutoring talents she finds the greatest joy in English grammar and Spanish tutoring. She was trained as an assistant teacher in a Montessori school in the States. While Amie isn’t at Sylvan you’ll find her homeschooling her kids, running and gardening.

Zachary

Teacher

While Zach has many tutoring talents her finds the greatest joy in mathematics and physics tutoring. He studied at University of Toronto. When Zach isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing the game of GO and Chess.

Emma

Teacher

While Emma has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in language tutoring. She studied at Trent University. When Emma isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, writing or watching Telenovelas

While Jennifer has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in English tutoring. She studied at the University of Prince Edward Island. When Jennifer isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading a book.
