CTV Interview: Helping Kids to Bounce Back from Mistakes
Apr 06, 2016
Children often see disaster rather than opportunity when things don't go perfectly in life. We all make mistakes, but that doesn't mean we can't learn from them.
One of our local Sylvan Learning experts stopped by CTV Morning Live to share ideas for helping kids to bounce back from mistakes, whether it's a disappointing report card or a poor decision.
Stay calm. It's important not to push kids away when we need to keep them close. Keep calm, talk, and listen.
Recognize the mistake. Ask your child, "What do you think went wrong?"
Set goals. What can your child do to help things go better next time?
