Discussing Report Cards With Your Child
Jul 01, 2017
There’s a quick and easy way to understand your child’s learning and set long term goals with them. Discussing your child’s report card allows both of you to understand where your child excels and where they might need improvement.
Here are some guidelines to aid the process:
- Let your child explain what they feel were their highs and lows during the semester. This will help your child to pinpoint areas to focus on.
- Praise them. Positive reinforcement helps strengthen a child’s confidence. If you encourage them now, they will continue to excel in their comfort zones and be more confident facing new challenges in the future.
- Have your child write down their own goals. This is important because it allows them to review their progress and stay focused throughout the upcoming school year.
