Our tutors and staff in North Winnipeg consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in North Winnipeg know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Les
Centre Owner
Les has been an accountant for over 40 years with his own practice in South Africa. He emigrated to Canada in December 2017 with his wife and son. Les is very excited to be a part of Sylvan Learning Centre of North and West Winnipeg. His favourite thing about working at Sylvan is making a positive impact on both students’ and parents’ lives. In his free time Les enjoys watching live concerts and music, collecting watches, LP records, CD’s, and DVD’s, travelling, cooking, baking, reading, and entertaining.
Nikki
Supervising Director
Nikki has been with Sylvan Learning of Winnipeg since 2015, first as the Director of Education, then Centre Director of North Winnipeg, and now as the Supervising Director for the region. She loves to support students and families in achieving their academic goals, and supporting Sylvan Staff in providing the highest quality service! Nikki enjoys reading and baking in her spare time, and walking her poodle, Lucy!
Cora-Lynne
Director of Education
Cora joined Sylvan Learning of North Winnipeg as a tutor in January 2022, and quickly became a student favourite! She was promoted to Director of Education in September 2023. Cora loves helping students reach their academic goals, and connecting with them over all kinds of topics, as Cora is creative and outgoing herself. During her free time, Cora enjoys performing in improv shows, creating crafts, and eating snacks.
Isla
Federal Funding Applications Clerk
Isla has been a part of the Sylvan team since August 2023 providing advocacy and application support for indigenous students through Jordan’s Principle as well as other federally funded programs. As an avid learner herself, she feels passionate about making educational support available to all students. Isla is always up for learning something new, whether professionally or recreationally. She loves board games and enjoys spending her free time creating, whether writing music on her guitar, doodling in a nearby park, or trying new recipes at home.
