Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Surrey & Newton know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Yasmin Bajwa
Centre Director
Yasmin oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors. A former Teacher, Yasmin brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Newton and Surrey. She is passionate about education and nothing gives her more joy than to see students make progress and be successful.
Bob Dhudwal
Director of Education
Bob has been with Sylvan Learning since 2001. Initially, he started working as a math instructor in Vancouver. He then transitioned into the role of Director of Education. He joined our Newton location in August 2020. With an understanding that the classroom is not meeting every child’s needs, Bob enjoys collaborating with families to help them achieve their academic goals. He believes there is no greater reward than watching a student gain self-confidence through improved performance at school. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from the University of British Columbia, and was a Teacher-On-Call for the Vancouver and Surrey School Districts before joining Sylvan.
