  • Vijaypal Dhanoa, Centre Director

    Vijaypal Dhanoa

    Centre Director

If there is one person with a passion for learning, it's Vijay. Our Centre Director is a lifelong learner with three advanced degrees: a Bachelor's in Science, a Master's in English, and a Bachelor of Education. She is fluent in three languages and knows the challenges of having a student that has fallen behind; particularly when English is not their first language.

"Many kids who do not come from English-speaking families need extra help to succeed in school. Sylvan's approach, from assessing students to designing individual programs that address skill gaps, is the best way to augment their education. Sylvan is a place where kids can truly feel good about learning," she says.
  • Yasmin Bajwa, Director of Education

She is passionate about education and nothing gives her more joy than to see students make progress and be successful.
  • Bob Dhudwal, Director of Education

    Bob Dhudwal

    Director of Education

Bob has been with Sylvan Learning since 2001. Initially, he started working as a math instructor in Vancouver. He then transitioned into the role of Director of Education. He joined our Newton location in August 2020. With an understanding that the classroom is not meeting every child’s needs, Bob enjoys collaborating with families to help them achieve their academic goals. He believes there is no greater reward than watching a student gain self-confidence through improved performance at school. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from the University of British Columbia, and was a Teacher-On-Call for the Vancouver and Surrey School Districts before joining Sylvan.
