Melanie Bannister
Centre Director
As Centre Director, Melanie uses her leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to ensure that students at our White Rock/South Surrey location receive individual attention to boost their learning and self-confidence. Melanie graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1990 with a teaching degree and strong background in math and sciences. She began her career with Sylvan in 1992 as a teacher, and soon worked her way up to Centre Director. She continually inspires her students. “If you believe, you can achieve,” she says. “I love empowering kids to reach their goals.”
Branka Lukic
Tutor
Branka is a passionate educator with over 20 years of experience at Sylvan. A former high school math teacher, she has the knowledge and expertise on how to get even reluctant learners confident in their math skills in everything from addition to trigonometry. She is highly recommended by her students and has a Bachelors of Math and a teaching certificate.
Cheryl Donohoe
Tutor
A former pre-school teacher, Cheryl is a caring and patient educator who enjoys helping students learn and find joy in tackling new topics. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts, an Early Childhood education certificate, and has held a wide-range of positions, from teacher to flight attendant and, most recently, published author. Her ability to establish positive relationships with her students makes her a valued member of our Sylvan team.
