Our tutors and staff in Amarillo consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Amarillo know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Assistant Director of Instruction & Tutor

    As Assistant Director of Instruction, Meg helps to oversee the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Amarillo, TX.  Like all of our tutors, Meg has a gift for working with kids.  When her schedule permits, Meg finds the greatest joy in Beginning Reading tutoring.  She studied at Texas Tech University.  When Meg isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her gardening, working on family genealogy or searching out great deals at estate sales.

    Roxene is a certified teacher in Amarillo, TX with a gift for working with kids.  While Roxene has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in tutoring math.  She studied at West Texas A&M University.  When Roxene isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her in the kitchen baking or currently watching her son bowl.

    Gerardette is a substitute teacher in Amarillo, TX with a gift for working with kids.  While Gerardette has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring.  She studied at West Texas A&M University.  When Gerardette isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her playing bingo and adding to her collection of dolls.
  • Teresa Quirk, Center Director

    Teresa Quirk

    Center Director

    Teresa joined Sylvan in Palm Desert, California in 2002 as an instructor following graduation from the Cal State system.  In 2004, she relocated to Amarillo and worked part time at the center teaching, updating binders and giving assessments.  She became Center Director in 2006.  In her spare time, Teresa enjoys time with grandchildren and scrapbooking.
