Jody has been with Sylvan for many, many years! Too many to count, she says! Jody will be conducting conferences, assisting families with their needs and ensuring that our center is always upholding the Sylvan Pledge! She loves to build relationships with families and create life long partnerships. In her spare time (ha!) she volunteers at Van Meter schools, plays with her three kids, dog and husband!
  • Emily Anderson, Director of Education

    Emily Anderson

    Director of Education

Emily oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Ames. A former global studies teacher and tutor supervisor in Ames, Emily brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Ames. She graduated from Iowa State University. When Emily isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her trying out new recipes, spending time with her two dogs, or camping with her husband.
  • Katherine Becker, Tutor

    Katherine Becker

    Tutor

Katherine studied Spanish and Secondary Education along with getting a minor in English as a Second Language. Katherine enjoys seeing her students "get the light bulb" and understand something new or different. She also loves teaching some of the kiddos some Spanish words in between activities. In her free time, Katherine loves to curl up with a good book in her hammock with her three dogs; Lucy, Daisy, and Rizzo. Katherine hopes to leave an impact on each student she interacts with and share her passion for learning.
