    Marianna Bailey

    CENTER DIRECTOR

    Marianna is a graduate of the University of Houston - Clear Lake where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She is certified in grades 4-8 and is very passionate about education. Her closest friends describe her as caring, organized, and understanding. At Sylvan of Baytown, she enjoys tutoring Academic Reading, Math, and Sylvan Writing.

    Allison Naumann

    DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

    Allison Naumann has a bachelor’s degree in Writing from Houston Baptist University and has worked with a variety of students to encourage their growth and confidence. Her greatest passions are for anything artistic or outdoorsy—including anything from creative writing and painting murals to canoeing and gardening! As for her students, Allison loves to be adventurous, encouraging her students to step out of their comfort zones and have fun learning.

    Jennifer Chenier is a teacher at KIPP Texas in Houston. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from Southwestern College. Jennifer has a passion for teaching and loves to show her students new, fun, and exciting ways to learn. In her free time she loves to spend time with her family and her daughter.

    Ambra is a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center of Baytown. She has a passion for seeing kids find joy in learning. Ambra has been helping students at Sylvan for over 10 years! She is a certified teacher who loves watching her students grow in their knowledge and skills. In her spare time, Ambra likes to spend time with her family.

    Angela Murray is a graduate from Texas A &M with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Angela has a passion to help students reach their full potential. She loves teaching children of all ages and showing them new ways to learn! In her spare time she loves to go to the movies and read.

    Kalan is a tutor at the Sylvan Learning Center of Baytown with a gift for working with kids.  While Kalan has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in tutoring Reading and Writing.  Kalan is a graduate of the University of Houston and holds a teaching certificate in Generalist K-5 and 4-8.  In his free time, Kalan enjoys running and cartooning.

    Ashayla is a graduate of McNeese State University where she studied psychology and education so she could help children succeed. She holds a certification in EC-6, and she passionately pursues every opportunity to push students to reach their goals! Outside of teaching, Ashayla loves to travel, read, and study Spanish.

    Kristen is a graduate of the University of Houston. She holds a Teacher Certification in grades 4-8 Mathematics. She has a passion for teaching and helping others due to her originally struggling in school. She wants to change that for all students in order to help them get everything they need to be successful and enjoy learning. In her spare time, she loves crafts, cooking, and spending time with her sons!

    Audria is a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center of Baytown. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has a strong heart toward children and loves to help out any way she can, anytime she can. Audria goes over and beyond for the children who need a little bit of extra help with their classes. Outside of teaching, she loves to volunteer at church, listen to music, and play basketball.

She absolutely loves watching students grow in their knowledge! Karah is a graduate of Simpson University and holds a teaching certificate in Education K-8. In her free time, Karah enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

    Shannon is a graduate from Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelors in Education. She currently is a Dyslexia specialist who loves seeing students growth both personally and academically. In her free time, Shannon enjoys reading, traveling, baking and sand volleyball. At the Sylvan of Baytown, she enjoys having the opportunity to work in small groups with students to meet their academic needs.

Andrea is a graduate from Lamar University and now has over 16 years in education. Andrea is a motivated and outgoing teacher who enjoys spending her free time swimming, traveling, and watching football.

In her free time, Jennifer loves taking road trips and spending time with friends and family.

    Alice Ricks-Lewis is a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Education. She later acquired a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in development. Her certifications include Special Education EC-12th, Educational Diagnostician, and School Counselor. In her spare time, she enjoys working at her church and spending time family.

In her free time, Dana loves reading and playing with her pets.

    Andrea Bunt is a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s in history. Andrea is a certified teacher with her certificate in 4-8 Core subjects with ESL supplemental. In Andrea's free time, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys teaching because she loves being able to help ensure that every child is presented with an opportunity to be successful in life and build their confidence up.

    Amy graduated from University of Texas Arlington with a masters in curriculum and instruction. She loves teaching and developing her students’ skills in reading, writing, and literacy analysis. Her fun, patient, and caring personality has provided an opportunity for her students to grow in many ways. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and reading.

While Deisy has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in tutoring all levels of mathematics. Deisy is a graduate of the University of Houston and Lamar University. She holds a master’s degree in mathematics. In her free time, Deisy enjoys sewing and all things Disney.

    McGinty is a graduate of the University of Sam Houston where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He is a Texas Certified Generalist from Early Childhood through sixth grade. Mr. McGinty is a passionate, patient, and calm educator who loves to expand his students’ knowledge in Math and Reading. In his free time, Mr. McGinty loves to play/watch sports and spend time with his family.

    Mr. Valdes is a graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Biology and Chemistry. He holds a Texas Educator Certificate in Science. He loves education as an avenue to equip students with everything they need to succeed and excel in life. When he is not teaching, he enjoys church and leading the boy scouts. Mr. Valdes is dependable, compassionate, and easy-going.

    Steve is a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center in Baytown with a gift for working with children. While Steve has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in tutoring Math and Science. He fully adores helping others enjoy school and find the little successes. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and TAMU where he received a bachelor's and master's in Education. Steve has worked with students for years both in the classroom as well as a principal. In his free time he loves spending time with his grandkids, reading, and watching football.

    Daisy is a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry. Daisy received tutoring as a young child from Sylvan and it helped her flourish in her academics. Since then, she has grown academically and wants to share her love for learning with younger students! She finds great satisfaction in helping others. In her spare time, she loves traveling and spending time with her dog on hikes and adventures.

    Molly graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Education. She has worked with students in EC-5 and has been in education for the majority of her life. Her main goal is to help learners reach their full potential. Molly is a retired teacher who is very happy, positive, and friendly with her students. Outside of teaching, she likes to play bridge, watch TV, cook, knit, and craft.

In her free time, she loves to travel with family and explore state parks.

It’s easy to see that Deanna loves working with children. She loves to see children learn and meet their full potential. When not at Sylvan, Deanna is involved in activities such as reading, doing brunch, and spending time with family.
