Our tutors and staff in Bedford consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed.     Regional Director

    As part of our Regional Director team, Rebecca supports our center teams and works with families to achieve their academic goals with Sylvan. A former teacher, Rebecca chose a career in the tutoring business because she strives to see students reach their individual potential. She studied at Northern Illinois University. When Rebecca isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her watching movies and spending time with her family.
  • Rachel Franklin, Executive Director

    Rachel Franklin

    Executive Director

    As Executive Director, Rachel oversees operations at our Bedford, West Richardson, Rockwall-Heath and Aledo-Weatherford locations. She works closely with center directors and directors of education in their ongoing training and development, focusing on center growth, academic success and customer service. A graduate of Rice University, Rachel has worked with Sylvan Learning for over twelve years. She loves seeing students grow to achieve their highest potential. When not at Sylvan, Rachel enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with family.
  • Veronica Morgan, Assistant Director of Education

    Veronica Morgan

    Assistant Director of Education

    Veronica is our Assistant Director of Education, and has a passion for helping students succeed. She oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors to ensure every student succeeds. While Veronica has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading tutoring. She studied at Texas Wesleyan University. When Veronica isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her doing Pilates, playing tennis, and running.

    Susan Lavender

    Teacher

    Susan is a teacher at the Sylvan Learning Center of Bedford. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a Minor in English. She teaches HS Math, Algebra, Geometry, SAT and ACT. Susan has a wide variety of interests including reading, volleyball, and hot air ballooning. At Sylvan of Bedford, Susan enjoys helping her students meet their educational goals and goes beyond to make sure they leave with more confidence and knowledge.

    Chris Braun

    Teacher

    Chris is a tutor at Sylvan Learning of Bedford with a love for helping students. While Chris has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading and writing tutoring. She studied at the University of Hartford and previously worked with the Rise Program at Grapevine High School. When Chris isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, walking or crafting.

    Pat is an integral part of our team of teachers at Sylvan Learning of Bedford. A retired teacher with a passion for helping children, Pat has a gift for teaching reading and English Language Arts. Pat studied at Texas Wesleyan University and earned her Masters Degree in Early Childhood from the University of Phoenix. When not at Sylvan, you'll find Pat reading, canning, and watching documentaries.

    Ginger is a valued member of our teaching team at Sylvan Learning of Bedford. Ginger has taught for 28 years, and loves seeing students accomplish their goals. Ginger earned her Bachelors in Education from North Texas University, and her Masters in Education Counseling from Texas Christian University. When Ginger isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her making soaps, bath bombs and other crafts, or tending to her peonies and roses.

    Kathy Self

    Teacher

    Kathy is a teacher at Sylvan of Bedford who loves helping students and seeing them learn. A graduate of Pt. Loma Nazarene University, Kathy holds a teaching certification for grades K-8 and has experience working as an interventionist for reading and math in addition to her time with us here at Sylvan. In her free time, Kathy enjoys hiking, sewing, reading, and gardening.
