Diane Montfort
Director of Education, Sylvan Core Subjects
Diane oversees the educational integrity of our Reading, Writing and Math programs. A former Teacher, Diane is very experienced in helping children of all backgrounds, from early childhood learning all the way through high school, including those with special needs. Diane also oversees the initial assessments and meets with parents for consultations.
Every Spring, Diane and the team focus their energy on the Texas STAAR Test, ensuring high passage rates.
Fillis Friedman
Director of Education, Sylvan Prep and Sylvan Edge
Fillis oversees the Test Prep and STEM Programs. A former Calculus and Chemistry Teacher, Fillis has a strong background in Math and Science tutoring and provides homework support and test preparation for high school students. As Director of SylvanPrep, Fillis teaches our very individualized small group courses for the ACT and SAT college entrance exams. She also prepares students for private school tests like the ISEE, SSAT and WPPSI, along with the CogAT and Iowa tests for magnet schools, all with stellar results.With SylvanEdge, Fillis overseas our STEM enrichment programs in Engineering, Robotics and Coding.
