Our tutors and staff in Bellevue consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Bellevue know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Center Director

    As Center Director, Ashley leads the team, welcomes new families to the center, manages the student's academic programs, and works to build relationships in the community for Sylvan of Bellevue. A former, preschool teacher, Ashley chose a career in the tutoring business because she believes in helping students achieve their full academic potential. She studied at Doane. When Ashley isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her cooking and watching Marvel movies.

    Tutor

    Charli is a Math teacher at Norris Middle School in Omaha, Nebraska. She studied Education at the University of South Dakota. She loves reading, drinking coffee, and watching The Office. As a child, Charli wanted to be a marine biologist due to her obsession with sharks! She loves teaching reading and math at Sylvan!

    Tutor

    Brittany is an English teacher in Omaha, Nebraska. She has a Master's in Education from the University of Omaha. Brittany loves reading, writing, and anime! As a child, Brittany wanted to be an archaeologist due to her fascination with rocks, fossils, and gems. Brittany loves teaching reading at Sylvan and is one of our ACT Reading and English teachers!

    Heather is currently an ELL teacher in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She studied Education at the University of Nebraska Kearney and also holds a Master's degree in Reading from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Heather loves her family, reading, and dogs! If she could live anywhere in the world, it would be anywhere with a mountain view. Heather loves teaching reading at Sylvan!

    Ainsley Holley

    Tutor

    Ainsley is a former math teacher from Utah. She studied Education at Weber State University. Ainsley loves being outside going hiking, fishing, and camping. She also loves to cook and bake! When she was a child, Ainsley wanted to be either a teacher or a veterinarian. She really loves animals - especially dogs. Ainsley loves teaching math at Sylvan!

    Melissa Barrett

    Melissa is a Sergeant with the U.S. Army Reserves and has spent many years working in Special Education. Melissa’s favorite Sylvan program is reading, which makes sense as she loves reading, especially on rainy days. As a child, she wanted to be a professional soccer player, and now she enjoys playing soccer with her kids. Melissa prefers coffee over tea, and if she could live anywhere in the world, she would pick Black Mountain, North Carolina. Melissa is so excited to make an impact on our Sylvan students!

    Troy teaches in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He has a Master of Arts in History from UNO. Troy loves his kids, anthropology, paleontology, history, and music! As a child, Troy wanted to be a paleontologist. Troy loves teaching all programs at Sylvan!

    Wenda is a former high school and middle school English teacher. She studied English and History at Buena Vista University. As a child, Wenda wanted to be a teacher. She loves her family and enjoys reading and binging her favorite shows. She is inspired by the kids she is working with and loves teaching reading at Sylvan!

    Derek currently works with our upper-level math and science students. He holds a B.S. in Physics from Iowa State and an M.S. in Education from UNO. He loves math, science, and movies. As a child, Derek wanted to be a teacher. He loves teaching math and ACT Prep at Sylvan!

    Hope is currently finishing up her student teaching position and degree in Elementary Education as she nears graduation at UNO. She loves Fall/Winter and all things cozy! As a child, Hope wanted to be a firefighter. If she could move anywhere in the world, she would choose Italy. She loves teaching reading at Sylvan!

    Tevin is a student favorite in our Center. He loves sports, reading and spending time with his family. Tevin always planned on being a teacher when he grew up and we're so glad he chose to work with Sylvan!

    Marissa is a former CPA, graduating from Doane College. She chose a career in the tutoring business because it's been a huge part of her family since 1996. She loves spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors (paddle boarding, fishing, etc.), and a good book. Marissa loves seeing the impact Sylvan has made with families and the surrounding community.  
  • Wes MIller, Executive Director

    Wes MIller

    Executive Director

    Wes began his career at Sylvan as an instructor in 2001. He currently serves as the Lincoln Center Director and the Sylvan of Nebraska Executive Director. He earned his B.S. in Elementary Education and became the Education Director at Sylvan in 2002. He has also worked in the social work field and spent time traveling the states as an account manager in Healthcare. Sylvan has always felt like home to Wes and we welcome his 17 years of Sylvan experience!
  • Amanda Folks, Regional Marketing Director

    Amanda Folks

    Regional Marketing Director

    Amanda joined Sylvan of Nebraska as Center Director before transitioning to Regional Marketing Director. She is responsible for the content and outreach that keeps Sylvan engaged in our communities. Prior to working with Sylvan, Amanda worked for several family-support nonprofit organizations. She holds a BS in Child Development and an MS in Program Management from UNL. Amanda is a military spouse, a mom, and a yoga enthusiast who loves Sylvan!
