The Sylvan SAT and ACT Teacher is responsible for creating robust learning experiences for students and evaluates student progress in the Sylvan Test Prep program.
Essential Job Functions: - Instructs students according to the design of the Sylvan program
- Instructs students in the small group seminar and individualized formats as required
- Communicates specific student needs to Center Director
- Evaluates student performance in class and on diagnostic and progress practice tests
- Monitors student use of the online resources
- Completes certification training on each Sylvan program taught to students
SAT/ACT Test Prep Teacher Qualifications: - Four year degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year teaching and/or tutoring experience
- Demonstrated excellence on the SAT and/or ACT (critical reading, writing, English sections)
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and to be flexible
- Strong problem solving and customer service skills
- Strong team player
