Our tutors and staff in Butte consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Butte know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Ron & Char
Owners
Ron and Char began Butte Sylvan Learning in December of 1993. They also own the Sylvan in Helena. Ron has been teaching math since 1970 and still loves every minute of it. Char runs the Helena Sylvan and in her spare time loves to scrapbook. Both Ron and Char can be found on the golf course when the Butte weather allows. They are committed to ensuring that the Butte and Helena students have Sylvan as a partner in education.
Kristel Callahan
Center Director
As Center Director, Kristel will be the first person you speak with when calling our center. She began working at Sylvan in 1994 and has enjoyed every minute of her time here. Kristel loves spending time with family, reading, and volunteering when she isn’t at Sylvan. Some of you may know her as the Sunrise Kiwanis Secretary and the Chairperson of Butte’s Bring Up Grades ( B.U.G.) program. She became the District Secretary for Montana Kiwanis in 2020.
JoLynn B.
Teacher
JoLynn studied at University of Montana – Western where she received her teaching degree. JoLynn is dedicated to making sure that her students understand the material that she teaches. She also loves watching hockey in her spare time. JoLynn keeps busy with her family and her other job at Youth Dynamics. JoLynn joined our team in September of 2015.
