    Angela Baron

    Owner/Director of Rome

    Angela oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Rome and Cartersville. Angela brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Rome. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with her Masters and Undergraduate Degree in History and Secondary Education from Berry College. When Angela isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her writing and singing .

    Regional Center Director

    My name is Kim Teems. I have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, a master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Organizations and Industries, and a master's degree in Addiction counseling all from Grand Canyon University. I am the Regional Center Director and love working at Sylvan because of the diverse duties as well as working with the staff and students. There is never a dull moment. I am certified to teach Advanced Reading Strategies,  which I truly enjoy, especially when I a student's face light up when they make strides and accomplishments. Outside of work, I enjoy singing karaoke and spending time with my five little dogs.

     I graduated from Berry College in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (P-5) with an ESOL endorsement and again in 2013 with a Master's in Early Childhood Education (P-5) and Reading (P-12).   I teach GA Pre-K as a lead teacher at The Gingerbread House in Cartersville. I started working for Sylvan Learning Center in January of 2016 and work primarily with early readers, but I also work with ELA students K-12. In addition, I am certified to teach SylvanSync Math, Sylvan Coding, and Sylvan Advanced Study Skills. When not at Sylvan, you can find me hanging with my hubby, kitties, and pup.

    Hi my name is Holly. I have been working for Sylvan of Cartersville for the past five years as an administrative assistant and classroom manager. I am currently attending Southern New Hampshire University for Software Engineer. In my spare time, I love playing table top games, DND, reading, and watching movies.
  • Jaquantas Printup, Teacher

    Jaquantas Printup


    Hey, I am Jaquantas Printup and I’ve been teaching at Sylvan Learning Center since August 2022. I am a University of Georgia alumnus, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Science Education. At Sylvan, I teach fundamental reading, and math and give homework support focusing on all branches of science including Chemistry, Biology, and Physical Science. I am also certified to teach Sylvan Writing, SylvanSync Math and SylvanSync Reading, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and qualified to proctor TEAS testing. Before Sylvan, I had the great honor of teaching internationally. This experience has broadened my horizon as a teacher by allowing me to adapt, learn and connect with a variety of students. In my spare time, you’ll find me spending time with my family, studying Mandarin in my HSK book, or on YouTube watching interesting documentaries.

    "Hello, My name is Mariana. I have a Bachelor's of science degree in education. I´ve been working as a math teacher in Mexico and Sylvan for three years. I am also a tutoring instructor for reading, math and writing. As a teacher in Mexico I helped my high school students reach first place in a national math test (PLANEA). I taught 6 different levels of math starting from middle to high school. I love teaching math, making it exciting and always looking for new games or activities for kids to learn and who knows... even love it. I have assisted to a lot of courses and conferences preparing myself to keep growing and becoming a better teacher."

    Hi! My name is Shenita Huntley, and I have been an employee of Sylvan Learning Center for two years so far. I am a writing, a study skills, a reading, an SAT, an ACT and a math instructor. I am also a Classroom Manager. I have obtained an Associates degree at Georgia Highlands College, and I am currently working on my bachelors degree. Outside of Sylvan, you can catch me having me time with God, for it is very beneficial. I also will be hanging out with my husband, my god children, and my friends.

    Hi, My name is Kylie. I graduated from South Paulding high school in 2023. I am a classroom manager here at Sylvan and enjoy playing games with the kids as well as helping out the teachers. When I'm not working I'm doing movie/theater makeup and spending time with the Lord.

    Johnny Knox


    Hey, I am Johnny. I just began tutoring at Sylvan of Cartersville. I specialize in math tutoring, and I have taught every math course from, geometry to college differential equations. In 2023, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering from Georgia Tech. I love all courses pertaining to chemistry, physics, and engineering. In my free time, I enjoy playing pickle ball, and messing with my two cats : Ozzie and Max Friedo. Go Braves!
