    Angela Baron

    Owner/Director of Rome

    Angela oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Rome and Cartersville. Angela brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Rome. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with her Masters and Undergraduate Degree in History and Secondary Education from Berry College. When Angela isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her writing and singing .

    Regional Center Director

    My name is Kim Teems. I have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, a master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Organizations and Industries, and a master's degree in Addiction counseling all from Grand Canyon University. I am the Regional Center Director and love working at Sylvan because of the diverse duties as well as working with the staff and students. There is never a dull moment. I am certified to teach Advanced Reading Strategies,  which I truly enjoy, especially when I a student's face light up when they make strides and accomplishments. Outside of work, I enjoy singing karaoke and spending time with my five little dogs.

     I graduated from Berry College in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (P-5) with an ESOL endorsement and again in 2013 with a Master's in Early Childhood Education (P-5) and Reading (P-12).   I teach GA Pre-K as a lead teacher at The Gingerbread House in Cartersville. I started working for Sylvan Learning Center in January of 2016 and work primarily with early readers, but I also work with ELA students K-12. In addition, I am certified to teach SylvanSync Math, Sylvan Coding, and Sylvan Advanced Study Skills. When not at Sylvan, you can find me hanging with my hubby, kitties, and pup.

    Hello! My name is Paulina Rodriguez-Garcia, and I have been working at Sylvan since September 2018. I am a reading, math, and homework support instructor. I am also one of the TEAS proctors. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with my BS in Early Childhood Education with an ESOL endorsement in 2013. I have taught third grade for one year and kindergarten for four years. Outside of Sylvan, you can find me either helping lead the high school and middle school programs at my church or reading.

    I am Miss Dianne and I love teaching! I have taught everything from swimming while lifeguarding to snow skiing in the North Carolina mountains. I have a BS in Education from Auburn University and an MS in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University. In addition to teaching math in the Cobb County School System, I have taught at several technical colleges and Georgia Highlands College. Most recently, I was a substitute teacher for Glynn County Schools for 8 years. I spent numerous years as a computer programmer and was involved in the start-up of several companies and have worked for such companies as Lockheed, Georgia Hospital Association, and Scientific Games. With my passion for math, science, and programming; I look forward to working with the stem program.

    Hey, I am Jaquantas Printup and I’ve been teaching at Sylvan Learning Center since August 2022. I am a University of Georgia alumnus, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Science Education. At Sylvan, I teach fundamental reading, and math and give homework support focusing on all branches of science including Chemistry, Biology, and Physical Science. I am also certified to teach Sylvan Writing, SylvanSync Math and SylvanSync Reading, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and qualified to proctor TEAS testing. Before Sylvan, I had the great honor of teaching internationally. This experience has broadened my horizon as a teacher by allowing me to adapt, learn and connect with a variety of students. In my spare time, you’ll find me spending time with my family, studying Mandarin in my HSK book, or on YouTube watching interesting documentaries.

    "Hello, My name is Mariana. I have a Bachelor's of science degree in education. I´ve been working as a math teacher in Mexico and Sylvan for three years. I am also a tutoring instructor for reading, math and writing. As a teacher in Mexico I helped my high school students reach first place in a national math test (PLANEA). I taught 6 different levels of math starting from middle to high school. I love teaching math, making it exciting and always looking for new games or activities for kids to learn and who knows... even love it. I have assisted to a lot of courses and conferences preparing myself to keep growing and becoming a better teacher."

    Hello! My name is Julie Davis. I have been an early reading specialist at Sylvan since October 2022. I completed my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University in 2021 and earned my CELTA certification in ESL in 2022. I love communication and its development, so I quickly fell in love with early reading development during college. My passion is to help students connect the building blocks of reading so they can become strong readers and love reading. Prior to my work with Sylvan, I tutored Pre-K and elementary reading, taught ESL to refugees, and gained international experience in Africa. In my spare time, I love to read, spend time with people, and do anything creative!

    Hi! My name is Shenita Huntley, and I have been an employee of Sylvan Learning Center for two years so far. I am a writing, a study skills, a reading, an SAT, an ACT and a math instructor. I am also a Classroom Manager. I have obtained an Associates degree at Georgia Highlands College, and I am currently working on my bachelors degree. Outside of Sylvan, you can catch me having me time with God, for it is very beneficial. I also will be hanging out with my husband, my god children, and my friends.
