    Patrick McNamara

    Executive Director

    Patrick oversees operations at the Sylvan Learning Centers of Albany and Clifton Park. He knows the value of a high quality education and is committed to ensuring that each family has a positive experience at Sylvan. Prior to purchasing his Sylvan Learning Centers, Patrick was an attorney in private practice in New York City. He was raised in Clinton, New York and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and his law degree from Boston College Law School.

    Audrey Waterfield

    Center Director

    Audrey  joined our Sylvan team in 2015 as a teacher at Sylvan of Albany, was promoted to Director of Education at Sylvan of Clifton Park in 2016 and is now the Center Director of the Clifton Park Sylvan Learning Center. She is certified in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. In previous years, she taught all five major content areas while helping students prepare for their high school equivalency exams. Audrey has worked with students of all age groups at Sylvan and is excited about the opportunity to help students at the Clifton Park Sylvan center reach their full potential.

    Adam Ehlinger

    Director of Education

    Adam oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Clifton Park.  Adam has more than seven years teaching experience in the Capital District, and Adam brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Clifton Park.  He graduated from LeMoyne College with a degree in International Relations and has a Masters degree in Education from the College of St. Rose.
  • Jennifer Bloss, Lead Teacher

    Jennifer Bloss

    Lead Teacher

    Jennifer has worked for Sylvan in various capacities since 1996, serving as an instructor, program quality manager, and Director of Education. She shares a commitment to educational quality and a love for learning. Her educational training, including a Master's in Multicultural Education, coupled with her extensive experience at Sylvan, aids her in helping students to reach their full potential.

    Jennifer oversees the educational integrity of our programs and tutors students at the Clifton Park Sylvan Center in Reading, Writing, Study Skills, Math and College prep.
  • Susan deGaspard, Lead Teacher

    Susan deGaspard

    Lead Teacher

    Susan has worked for Sylvan for 8 years. She is a retired elementary school teacher with considerable experience in elementary reading and math. She received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the College of St. Rose.

    Susan tutors students at the Clifton Park Sylvan Center in Reading, Writing, Study Skills, and Math.
  • Angie Robinson, Teacher

    Angie Robinson


    Angie is a previous Sylvan Online instructor and transferred to Clifton Park in 2011. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Certification in Comprehensive Science from Youngstown State University as well as a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University. She teaches physics for the Stillwater School District. At Sylvan, she finds it fun to see our students proud of learning new things, and they form an easy bond over her favorite hobby: playing video games.

    Angie tutors reading, math, biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, study skills, SAT Prep and ACT Prep at the Clifton Park Sylvan center.
  • Tom Leewe, Teacher

    Tom Leewe


    Tom has taught at Sylvan since 1997 and is a favorite among Sylvan students. In addition to his "day job" at Stillwater High School, he is a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserves.

    Tom tutors students at the Clifton Park Sylvan Center in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, and Global & US History Regents prep.
  • Elise Charlebois, Teacher

    Elise Charlebois


    Elise has been with Sylvan since the fall of 2013. She is a State Certified Mathematics teacher and works for the Shenendehowa School District as a substitute teacher for Math, Science, French and English classes. In her spare time, Elise works at Schenectady Civic Players running lights, house managing at Capital Repertory Theatre and singing with the Clifton Park Community Chorus.

    Elise tutors students at the Albany and Clifton Park Sylvan Centers in Math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II/Trig, Pre-Calculus and Calculus), Reading and SAT Prep.
  • Doreen Tiernan, Teacher

    Doreen Tiernan


    Doreen has been a teacher at Sylvan since 2005. She holds NYS reading certification and is a retired professor of Humanities. She enjoys gardening, painting, reading, and walking her dogs!

    Doreen tutors students of all ages at the Clifton Park Sylvan Center in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills and College prep.
  • John Waterfield, Teacher

    John Waterfield


    John has been with Sylvan since 2016, and has 4 years of teaching experience. John was a History major in college, so he is particularly effective with social studies and history students, but ultimately he enjoys figuring out how each student learns best, so that he can adjust his teaching methods to match that student's learning style. John received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from SUNY Albany.  
    John teaches math, reading, writing, study skills, History Regents Prep, and SAT/ACT prep (verbal) in both the Albany and Clifton Park Centers. 
  • Colleen Murray, Teacher

    Colleen Murray


    Colleen has been with Sylvan since April 2015, and has more than 10 years of teaching experience. Colleen has New York State certifications in Reading, English, Elementary Education, and Students with Disabilities, and she has worked with students K-12.  She works with students on reading, writing, study skills, math and SAT/ACT Prep.   Colleen has her Bachelors degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and her Masters degree from SUNY Albany.
  • Gina Madigan, Teacher

    Gina Madigan


    Gina Madigan joined the Clifton Park Sylvan staff in 2018. She received her Masters in Elementary Ed in 2014. She have been working in classrooms since 2004 including working as a Paraprofessional in a self -contained social-emotional classroom. From these experiences she discovered that she enjoyed working mostly with children of pre-kindergarten and elementary school age. Gina teaches Academic Reading, Math Essentials, Writing, and Study Skills to students of elementary school age or younger. Gina especially loves watching the sense of accomplishment on their faces when they have mastered a skill they may have been working on for some time.
