    As Center Director, Melanie helps children meet their full academic potential for Sylvan of Coral Springs. A certified mathematics teacher, Melanie chose a career in the tutoring business because she understands the importance of having students reach their educational goals. Melanie received her B.A. in Education from SUNY Geneseo in New York. When Melanie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her most likely with family, outdoors or running as her most passionate hobby.

    As Assistant Center Director and Teacher, Natalie leads many responsibilities for Sylvan of Coral Springs. A former teacher for ten years Natalie chose a career in the tutoring business because she enjoys seeing the growth students can make in Reading, Writing, or Math. She studied at FAU and received a K-6 teaching certificate. When Natalie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her two young kids and family. She also enjoys reading, sports, fishing, and scuba diving.

    Dr. Miss Kimberly has a BA in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University. She has a Masters of Arts in Library Science from University of South Florida. Miss Kim received her doctorate degree in 2022!! Kim has been a tutor for over 6 years for reading and math students.  Kimberly's hobbies include reading and also performing in community theater!

    Diane attended Emerson College and received her degree in BA Science. Also, Diane received a masters in Education at Lesley College. She retired from public school teaching after 25 years but remained passionate about educating children. Diane's other passion is taking care of her pets. She owns many animals and enjoys taking her dogs to the dog park on her time off!

    Miss Sonya has a BA in Mathematics and Informatics Engineering from the University of Tirana, Albania. She is currently continuing her education at Broward College in the teacher education program. Miss Sonya enjoys seeing the students grow and making progress. But mostly, she likes helping others. Currently, Miss Sonya is mainly tutoring at Sylvan in the SAT/ACT prep programs and teaching upper level math students. In her free time, you will find Miss Sonya playing volleyball!

    Robert Rosen has been a teacher for over 43 years. He graduated from the University of Michigan. Robert taught at Stoneman Douglas for 29 years and 39 years total in Broward County. He has kept up his certifications in 4 areas since. Robert has been working for Sylvan since 2019. He especially enjoys working with his math students on their homework support. His hobbies include solving math problems, health fitness, and sports. Go Wolverines! Go Mets!

    Miss Sharon has taught for over 30 years. Her experience has been from preschool to eighth grade. In her later years, her focus has been on the "core" curriculum in reading and math. She holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education. Miss Sharon's goal in teaching throughout the years has been: "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."
  • Ruth Moore, Tutor

    Ruth Moore


    Miss Ruth has been a dedicated tutor for Sylvan Learning of Coral Springs since November 2019. Her passionate content area is reading. She teaches our Early Literacy, Academic Reading, and lower level Math Essential students. She homeschooled her own children for part of their grade schooling. She has experience in teaching for over 30 years. Miss Ruth's hobbies are painting and sewing as well as traveling to Orlando for Disney adventures!
  • Shalyn, Teacher



    Miss Shalyn is a current reading and lower-level math teacher at Sylvan. This is her 5th year as a Broward County school teacher. She has taught PreK, K, 1st, and currently 2nd grade. Shalyn received her bachelors from Broward College in Exceptional Student Education with endorsements in reading, ESOL, and a certification for Primary Education. Shalyn's goal is to help children achieve proficiency and fluency in both reading and math with a love of learning. 
  • Nefi Foster, Teacher

    Nefi Foster


    Miss Nefi grew up in New York. She has lived in Florida for the past 20 years and has over 25 years of teaching experience. She received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Early Education. She attended Herbert H. Lehman College in N.Y.C. Miss Nefi's hobbies include swimming, gardening, and relaxing with family and friends. Miss Nefi enjoys working in tutoring children because she knows she makes a difference in each child she works with. :)
