    Executive Director

    Rebecca has been with Sylvan Learning Center for over 20 years. She graduated with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. Her role as teacher and Director evolved into Business Franchisee Owner. Rebecca believes in the quality of Sylvan’s programs. She chooses teachers that share her pride in Sylvan’s personalized approach. Over the course of her career, she has been privy to countless triumphs over academic challenges. She has observed students of all ages reach their fullest potential and improve their love of learning. In addition to her role at Sylvan, she is mom to an 8 year old. Rebecca delights in her role as mother and Fundraising Chairperson for Pack #23 scouts.

    Erin S.

    Director of Education

    Erin graduated cum laude from RIC where she received a B.A. in English. She completed the Teacher Certification Program at PC. Erin began working as a tester in 2007, and began teaching at Sylvan in 2010. She is responsible for creating and managing programs for all students, as well as administering diagnostic and progress tests. Erin’s favorite part of teaching is witnessing her students grow academically and confidently. She gains the most enjoyment out of seeing students who are struggling succeed and in seeing the joy that results from their successes. Erin teaches Reading, Math, Writing, Study Skills, STEM, Accelerated Reading, and SAT/ACT Test Prep.

    Mikayla T


    Mikayla received a dual certificate from Providence College in Elementary and Special Education. For Mikayla, teaching doesn’t feel like a job. She enjoys finding different ways to help students understand what they are learning. According to Mikayla, witnessing a student’s transformation is what makes teaching at Sylvan a rewarding and meaninful position. Mikayla has been able to make the strongest connections with behaviorally and academically challenged students. Mikayla is certified in our Reading, Math, Study Skills, and Writing programs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, sports, and outside adventures

    Allison K


    Allison graduated from RIC with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, as well as a concentration in Mathematics. Allison has had experience working with students in a variety of grade levels and in all subject areas. Allison loves working with students of all ages. She enjoys showing children that learning can be fun. As a Sylvan teacher, Allison enjoys working with students in a small group setting, learning first hand about their particular needs, and helping them achieve success at their own speed. Allison is certified in our Reading, Math, Study Skills, and Writing programs. Outside of Sylvan, Allison delights in the outdoors; she loves running, hiking, and exploring.

    Dominique D


    Dominique graduated in May of 2016 from RIC with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education. She has worked with students of all grades and ages. According to Dominique, each grade is unique and comes with its own set of opportunities and challenges, so it is important to be adaptable, flexible, and open-minded. Dominique feels strongly that she is able to help a diverse population of learners. Dominique began instructing at Sylvan in August 2018, and she is certified in the Reading, Math, Study Skills, and Writing programs. "Although I’m a high school certified teacher, I love working with elementary-aged children. Their curiosity, intelligence, and sweetness are inspiring".
