Our tutors and staff in Edison consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Edison know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Rick Hernandez

Director
As Center Director, Rick Hernandez leads the Account Executive and Financial Management responsibilities for Sylvan. A former Product Management Executive, Rick chose a career in the tutoring business because he wanted a business that had a long-lasting positive impact on the youths in the community. He achieved an MBA in Information Systems from Baruch College. When he isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him at section 116 of Citi field or coaching at his 501 C3 youth program Elite Runners.
Rachel Hernandez

As a Sylvan Director, Rachel manages the social media and public relations for Sylvan of Edison. A former Hospitality and Event Planner, Rachel chose a career in the tutoring business because Sylvan helped Rachel during her school career and gave her a love of learning! Rachel studied Hospitality Management at Temple University. When Rachel isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her family.
Nadia Hernandez
Director of Education
Director
Nadia oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Edison. A former board-certified Behavior Analyst in Newark, Nadia brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Edison. She graduated from Endicott College. When Nadia isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her baking and walking her dog.
