STEM INSTUCTOR  Do you have a love for computers and working with children? Have you ever created lines of code? Are you a college student? A recent grad? A teacher? 

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we are looking for someone like you to fill part-time instructor positions for our new STEM programs, a series of courses on Robotics, Coding, and Engineering for elementary and middle school aged children. This part-time position includes teaching daily after-school programs from 2:00-4:00 with some weekday morning programs. Work will take place primarily at schools in the Rancho Cucamonga area, with some additional hours at our Etiwanda Sylvan center. 
As an instructor, you will be required to be TB tested, complete Virtus Training, and be Livescan fingerprinted.
Coding Responsibilities: Have a basic knowledge of comfort with, and interest in computer programming Supervise, interact with, and motivate students (grades 3-5) during instruction while they work (6:1 ratio) -Communicate with parents in person and via email -Communicate class needs to the Center Director -Develop Rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment -Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan -Be dependable and reliable -Adhere to principles and techniques defined in training and ongoing coaching -Robotics/Engineering Responsibilities: -Supervise, interact with, and motivate students in grades 1-6 while they build projects according to scripted lesson plans -Facilitate learning and positive group dynamics among students -Work as a team with fellow teachers and teacher's aides -Communicate with customers via email following each session -Communicate class needs to the manager. -Develop Rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment -Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching, S-Pick up and drop off equipment as necessary -Be dependable and reliable -Adhere to principles and techniques defined in training and ongoing coaching
Requirements: • Experience working with groups of elementary-aged children • Interest in STEM related topics • Flexible schedule: availability during weekday afternoons a must with some weekday mornings and weekends during school year • Must have a reliable vehicle to transport teaching materials and commute to teaching sites.
