Our tutors and staff in Fair Lawn consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Fair Lawn know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Assistant Director

    Sherlly oversees the educational integrity of our programs, while managing and training our team of tutors in Fair Lawn. She graduated from Montclair State University with a Business Administration Degree and a concentration in Management. Sherlly brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan and enjoys seeing students succeed in all aspects.

    John S.


    John is a math, SAT, and ACT tutor with a gift for both lower and higher-level mathematics. While John has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in helping students and showing them different approaches to solving problems. John studied at Stevens Institute of Technology for his Bachelor of Science and at Fairleigh Dickinson for his Master's in Mathematics.  When John is not at Sylvan, he is an adjunct math professor at Felician University in Lodi and Rutherford.

    Hamdi K.


    Hamdi is a specialized Math enthusiast. While he can tutor in SAT Math and almost any upper level math course, Hamdi finds the greatest joy in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. He studied at New Jersey Institute of Technology. When Hamdi isn't at Sylvan, you'll find him either at the gym or at home reading his favorite books. Hamdi's favorite restaurant is The Cheesecake Factory because he loves Cheesecake!

    Krisi D.


    Krisi is a specialized K-6th Math and Reading Tutor here at Sylvan. While Krisi has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in helping students understand the complexity of math.  When she isn't at Sylvan you'll find her studying to always keep her knowledge up-to-date or working Full-Time as a Teacher's Assistant for students with Special Needs. Krisi's favorite restaurant is Korean BBQ because she loves Korean food!
