Meet our Glendale Tutoring Staff

Fabio Marquez is the Regional Director for Sylvan and has been with the company for 7 years. In the Regional Director role, he oversees seven centers and is responsible for operations, sales, and ongoing training. Fabio attended UC Irvine where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics along with a Minor in Latin American Studies. He comes to Sylvan with over a decade of tutoring and directing experience. In 2018, he was nominated for the Center Director of the Year Award. This award spans all centers in North America. Fabio enjoys working with families in order to make an ongoing plan for success.

Anna has been a tutor at Sylvan since September 2021. She has previously worked as a math tutor in Alabama where she studied neuroscience at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She moved to California in 2019 to pursue her Master’s in screenwriting at the University of Southern California. Her goal is to work as a screenwriter in Hollywood. Even though her advanced degree is in writing, math is her favorite subject to teach. In her free time, she likes to travel and spend time with her family, friends, and cat.

Anoush is the Associate Center Director in Glendale. Anoush was born and raised in Glendale, CA. She now lives in Sunland with her fiancé and her dachshund puppy, Zazu. She majored in Child Development at Glendale Community College, then attended Pacific Oaks College. After graduating, she went on to teach elementary grade students for about 10 years. Over the years, her skills as a teacher and a positive role model for children have been strengthened. She considers herself an advocate for children and providing them a learning environment where they can flourish and reach their full potential. When she’s not at work, Anoush enjoys spending time with her fiancé, friends, family, and Zazu.

Chelsea is the Director of Education at the Glendale center. She helps to develop and implement learning strategies to help each student reach their academic potential and beyond. Chelsea received her bachelor’s degree in English from Cal State Los Angeles. While in college, she started working with students as a private tutor. There, she found her love for working with children and watching them learn and grow. She found herself at Sylvan where she started off as an instructor and then moved on up to a director. In her free time, Chelsea likes to spend time with her family and enjoys film photography. She also loves to explore the outdoors with her boyfriend and their two pups.

Todd is our Executive Director and has a life-long passion for helping kids achieve academic success.  Todd is the first to graduate from college in his family and served in the Marine Corp for twelve years.  He has been running learning centers since 1998 and he fully understands the impact a good education can have on a child's life.  A native Southern California, Todd studied at Cal State Fullerton where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Theater Arts. When Todd isn’t working he's a full-time husband and Dad, driving his son from one practice to the next.  He fully understands what every parent goes through, trying to help their child become the best he or she can be.

Sara is the Director of Marketing for 8 Sylvan Learning centers in Southern California. In addition to overseeing all local digital marketing campaigns across her centers, Sara conducts and manages partnerships with school districts across Los Angeles. Sara’s passion for education began during her time at California State University, Long Beach, where she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. During her time in college, she studied abroad in Oxford England and taught English in South Korea. When she is not at Sylvan, she’s hiking and exploring the local mountains, hitting the beach, or scuba diving the Channel Islands.
