Our tutors and staff in Grandville consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Grandville know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Center Director

    As Center Director, Sarah leads main operations for Sylvan of Grandville and Holland. Sarah began her Sylvan career as a Sylvan teacher. She attended Grand Valley State University where she studied Elementary Education with an emphasis in English and Language Arts. When Sarah isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading or at the beach. Sarah looks forward to working with the students and families in Grandville and Holland.

    Melissa Pausinga

    Director

    Melissa Pausinga is a director at Sylvan Learning Center of Grandville. She relocated to the Grandville area from Midland, Michigan, where she was a Director of Education and a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center. Before that, she taught for eight years in second through sixth grade classrooms in both the private and public sector. Melissa also taught preschool for seven years prior. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. When she is not at Sylvan, she is enjoying family time with her husband and two cats. She loves the outdoors, family, friends, and a good book.

    Monica Haller

    Director

    Monica Haller is a director at Sylvan Learning Center of Grandville. She studied at Grand Valley State University where she obtained two Bachelor of Science degrees. Monica chose a career in the tutoring business because she loves to help people and wanted to promote bright futures for our students. When Monica isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her eating s'mores around a bonfire with her friends, reading neurological books, or playing video games.

    Dionne Wetzel

    Lead Teacher

    Dionne is a former college instructor with a gift for working with kids. A graduate of U of M's School of Education, Dionne enjoys working with students in almost any subject — especially math, english, and SAT/ACT prep. What she loves most is helping students reach that AHA moment when the lesson suddenly makes sense. When not at Sylvan, Dionne is usually reading, relaxing, and spending time with her family.
