Our tutors and staff in Greenville consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Greenville know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Executive Director

    Melissa is our Executive Director, overseeing the Greenville, New Bern, Wilmington, and Midlothian centers. She has been married to the same tech nerd for 25 years and has two kids in college, Tyler and Destiny. Her dog, Ginger, is her best friend, while mildly tolerating the family cat. She has fourteen years of educational experience, with some of them in administration. She is a licensed K-6 teacher with a K-12 reading license, K-12 curriculum & instruction license, and National Board Certification. Her Bachelor and Master degrees are both from ECU (Go Pirates!).

    Rachel Pogoda-Todd

    Center Director

    Rachel is our Center Director, with experience teaching Pre-K to 3rd grade. Family is important to her and she loves spending time with her husband, Zachary, and of course her cat, Bowie! Rachel graduated Pitt Community College with her degree in Business with a concentration in Communications. When she isn't at Sylvan, Rachel is spending her time painting, climbing mountains, and traveling.
