A Helping Hand for Nicol Michel, Mauldin High School

Congratulations to Nicol Michel from the English department at Mauldin High School. This afternoon Sylvan supplied Ms. Michel with 125 folders with brads, Crayola markers, and glue sticks through our Helping Hands for Teachers program. She plans to use the supplies to creative interactive notebooks for her unit on "Romeo and Juliet". Ms. Michel wrote on her application, "The interactive notebooks are a new idea from our district's emphasis on student-centered learning. The notebooks are a way for students to engage personally with their teacher and with their own learning in a way that is creative, organized, and educational. The teacher provides information on one side of the notebook, and students personalize their learning on the other." What a wonderful teaching opportunity! Kudos, Ms. Michel!
