Meet our Hamilton Township Tutoring Staff

Mark is a results-driven educator & director with more than 17 years of experience helping students improve their academic skills, confidence & motivation in reading, writing, math, study skills, science, SAT & ACT Prep. He grew up in West Windsor / Plainsboro and graduated from TCNJ with a Master of Arts in Teaching and an undergraduate from Hofstra University.

Mark meets with every family to understand the needs of their children & utilizes all resources to ensure they receive the best personalized instruction with State Certified Teachers. 
The Sylvan Learning of Hamilton also coaches students in Robbinsville , West Windsor , Lawrenceville , East Windsor & other towns in Mercer County, NJ

The Sylvan Learning of Hamilton is a family affair! Amy joined her husband, Mark in 2012 as a Managing Director. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree where she graduated Magna Cumme Laude.

At Sylvan, Amy manages center operations, meets with parents to discuss student progress, conducts Sylvan Skills Assessments in Math, Reading, Writing, Study Skills, SAT /ACT / SSAT / PSAT. Amy also manages the teaching staff and handles scheduling.

Lauren received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Special Education from Monmouth University. She also holds a Master of Education in Special Education and Autism. Currently, she is an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher in the area.  At Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Lauren works with students from kindergarten to high school, specifically focusing on reading, writing, and SAT/ACT prep.

Jose received his Bachelors in Mathematics from Rutgers University.
At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Jose tutors students in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, SAT Math, and ACT Math. 
In his free time, Jose enjoys playing tabletop games with his friends.

Nicole received a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from the William-Paterson University of New Jersey. Currently, Nicole is a basic skills teacher at a private school in the area. She also has previous experience as a preschool teacher and as an elementary technology teacher. At Sylvan Learning Center of Hamilton, Nicole works with students ranging from elementary through high school in the areas of reading and writing and students ranging from elementary through middle in math.

Ms. Rebecca graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Elementary Education, Special Education along with a minor in Math. For the past several years, Ms. Rebecca has worked as a high school math teacher. Prior, she also served as an all inclusive elementary school teacher where she supported students with ADHD, ODD, and Autism.  Ms. Rebecca is very kind, patient, and has an ultimate love of helping students reach their true potential. At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Ms. Rebecca teaches reading, writing, math, SAT prep, ACT prep and helps students with homework support. 

Sara holds a BA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and an MA in Counseling Services.
In addition to education, Sara has worked in a variety of fields including job coaching for individuals with developmental disabilities and substance abuse prevention.
Currently, Sara works as a School Counselor. At the Sylvan Learning Center of Hamilton, Sara works with elementary and middle school students in a variety of subjects.
In her free time, Sara enjoys hiking, camping, antique shopping, and spending time with friends.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education with a dual minor in Childhood Studies and Digital Literacy & Multimedia Design, Standard K-6 NJ Teaching Certificate, and an NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsement from Rowan University.
Previously, Rebecca has taught self-contained grades K-5 as well as Basic Skills Instruction. Rebecca has experience working with children with Autism, Multiple Disabilities, and emotional and behavioral challenges.
Rebecca enjoys spending her free time with her husband and friends, going on walks, watching TV, listening to music, and going to seasonal festivals.

Alex comes from a Computer Science and Math background and holds a Bachelors's in Computer Science from Rutgers University.
Alex loves dealing with anything that involves numbers and coding. He enjoys teaching others and passing on knowledge and skills.
Alex loves spending time with his family, wife and the cutest dog in the world. Nothing is more relaxing than a movie night with snacks and good company.
Among his many hobbies, Alex likes playing the guitar, reading, exploring Blockchain-related technologies and crypto, playing poker, billiard and basketball.

Phoebe graduated Summa Cum Laude from a local University in NJ with a degree in Psychology and Education. Currently, Phoebe is a middle school math teacher at a school in the area.
She also has previous experience as a preschool teaching assistant and as a Math Learning Assistant at her alma mater. 
At the Sylvan Learning Center of Hamilton, Phoebe teaches math and reading skills. In her free time, she likes to go to Phillies games and walk her dog, Lettie. 

Ian holds a Master of Arts in Education degree along with Secondary School Counseling. 
Ian also has experience working with students in the special education setting. He is currently teaching middle school Social Studies. 
At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Ian teaches reading, writing, SAT prep, ACT prep & study skills. 

Mr. Jalen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology as well as a Master's of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Mr. Jalen has extensive experience as an academic coach and mentor. He loves helping middle & high school students to gain better comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills. 
At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Mr. Jalen works with students in reading, writing, SAT/ACT prep & study skills. 

Nicole received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Rutgers University and her Master's in Reading and Language Arts from Rider University. Nicole holds a teaching certification in Elementary Education as well as supervisory certifications.
At the Sylvan Learning Center of Hamilton, Nicole teaches Reading, Writing, Math, and Study Skills. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and their pets.

Ms. Theresa holds Bachelor's Degrees in Secondary Education and Mathematics. She completed Graduate Studies in Special Education as well. 
Ms. Theresa holds certificates in education for Elementary Education, Secondary Mathematics, and Teacher of the Handicapped. She is a teacher in a local school district as an LLD Teacher specializing in math.
At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Ms. Theresa teaches math and reading at Sylvan Learning Center of Hamilton. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She travels to see the rest of the family every opportunity available.

Mr. Paul has a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering along with a Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Management. 
He comes to Sylvan Learning of Hamilton with a tremendous love for teaching students and being present when they experience that moment when they experience that 'ah hah' moment - and everything comes together for a complete understanding! 
At the Sylvan Learning of Mercer County, Mr. Paul teaches math from K-8 along with Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, calculus & SAT/ACT prep. 

Christiana holds a B.S. in Environmental and Business Economics from Rutgers University. She taught English as a Second Language in Thailand from 2019-2021. 
Currently, Christiana is working with The College of New Jersey in a combined teacher certification and M.Ed. program in Teaching English as a Second Language.

Ms. Stacey holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education along with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. Ms. Stacey has worked as an academic enrichment teacher for students in grades 4-8 and has also served as an instructional assistant where she has helped support students with special needs. At the Sylvan Learning Center of Mercer County, Ms. Stacey helps with center administrative tasks to help keep the center running smoothly. She also teaches reading & writing. 

Ms. Carla holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology with an Elementary Education K-8 Certificate. Ms. Carla is excited to have the opportunity to work with students one on one and to help them achieve success. Ms. Carla previously taught 4th Grade and currently serves as a Teacher Liaison for teens enrolled in partial day mental health programs. 
In her spare time, Ms. Carla enjoys spending time with her children, friends,  family, and going to the movies!

Nicole Received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education from William Paterson University. She is currently teaching English at a high school in the area. At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Nicole works with students from elementary to high school in a range of subjects that include reading, writing and SAT / ACT prep. 

Ms. Giovanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a specialization in English. She holds her teacher certification in English Secondary Education and currently serves as a reading interventionist at a local public school. In this position, Ms. Giovanna helps students that are struggling with reading & writing but don't quite need an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). 
At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Ms. Giovanna teaches reading, writing, SAT/ACT Prep verbal & study skills. 
Ms. Giovanna has a passion for teaching and creativity while balancing critical thinking, clear organization, and communication skills. She also has conversational skills in Italian!

Mr. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in History Secondary Education along with a minor in Political Science. He currently serves as a middle school History & Social Studies teacher.
At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton, Mr. Eric teaches reading, writing, SAT/ACT Prep verbal & study skills. Depending on the season, he also coaches track!
