Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Lone Tree know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Executive Center Director

    Jennifer is the Executive Director of the Sylvan Centers in Colorado serving Lone Tree/Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Colorado Springs and Broomfield.  With over 26 years of Sylvan experience Jennifer has been privileged to work with families and students as a tutor, Director of Education, and Center Director before taking on the role of Executive Director.  Her mission is to foster a safe and joyful environment where students build confidence and the ability to achieve their full potential.  When not working with the Sylvan centers Jennifer enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family, dogs and friends.
  • Margie Glynn, Center Director

    Center Director

    Margie's teaching career has spanned all grade levels and many locations from inner city Minneapolis to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  She received her B.A. in Special Education from Wittenberg University in Ohio.  Her post-grad studies focused on literacy and curriculum development.  As Director of Education, Margie enjoys communicating with students, parents and classroom teachers to aid Sylvan in providing encouraging, quality, individualized learning plans to maximize learning potential of each child.  Mom of six and grandma of twelve, when she's not at Sylvan Margie is engaged in her family, faith, and creative projects.
  • Kelly Strecker, Director of Education

    Director of Education

    Kelly Strecker joined Sylvan with a degree in Physics from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. During college, Kelly not only tutored physics but also traveled the state presenting educational seminars to elementary schools to interest students in physics and astronomy. An educator at heart, Kelly tutors upper-level math and sciences at Sylvan, and also enjoys working with younger elementary students in math and reading. She really enjoys the teamwork at Sylvan, not only among the tutors but also the supportive cooperation with students and parents. When Kelly is not at Sylvan, you may find her in the kitchen baking!

    Director Marketing

    As Marketing Director, Mark leads the outside awareness and community development for Sylvan of Highlands Ranch and Parker. An entrepreneur at heart , Mark has owned a variety of business over the past decade. Mark chose a career in the tutoring business because he is driven by helping students achieve their full potential. When Mark isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him hiking or reading.
  • Noelle Smits, Instructor

    Noelle Smits


    Noelle is from Highlands Ranch and graduated from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a B.A. in Modern Foreign Language Education with a concentration in French. She taught English as an English Language Assistant from 2014-2015 in a public high school and middle school in eastern France and loves sharing her passion for languages and international education with her students! Noelle enjoys teaching English, reading, math, French, Study Skills, and ACT/SAT prep at Sylvan Highlands Ranch. "I love teaching because I believe that knowledge greatly empowers students to live fulfilling and meaningful lives, and I consider it a privilege to pour into the lives of the next generation.” When she isn't at Sylvan, you'll find Noelle traveling, swing dancing, singing, watching Netflix, and volunteering at her church.
  • Cindy Smith, Instructor

    Cindy Smith


    Cindy Smith joined Sylvan with a BA in Elementary Education (majoring in Psychology) and a MA in Special Education from Western State College in Gunnison. Cindy has years of rich experience working with elementary and special needs students at several grade levels. Currently, she volunteers with the National Sports Center for the Disabled teaching cross country skiing. At Sylvan, she enjoys getting to know her students' unique learning styles and setting individualized goals and objectives to grow success. When not at Sylvan, Cindy enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
  • Alyssa Hayne Sellwood, Instructor

    Alyssa Hayne Sellwood


    Alyssa Hayne Sellwood is an area native, graduating from Highlands Ranch High School, and then earning her B.A. in Psychology from CU Denver.  After working at the Downtown Denver Expeditionary School, Alyssa spent two years in New Zealand, training teams and leading global outreach with Youth With a Mission.  We are excited to have Alyssa's diverse global experience, and her heart and passion for children as part of our Sylvan Lone Tree team!
  • Grace Humphreys, Instructor

    Grace Humphreys


    Grace Humphreys is a recent graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, TN.  On the Dean's list every semester, Grace graduated with a BA in English with a Literature emphasis and a Spanish minor.  She enjoyed studying abroad as part of the CIEE Liberal Arts program in Alicante, Spain.  Grace has been a library staff member, and also worked as an editorial intern for David C. Cook Publishing.  We are pleased to have Grace's experience and expertise as part of our Sylvan team.  When not at Sylvan, Grace enjoys reading, baking and spending time with her family.
  • Ryan Mansfield, Instructor

    Ryan Mansfield


    Ryan joins Sylvan with a degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  He serves our upper level math/science tutor, but also enjoys working with younger students.  Ryan's vast professional experience includes internships at Hitachi Hepatitis Research Facility, Vanderbilt Medical Center-Pharmacogenetics, and CU Denver Anschutz Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic Program. He is currently working on his masters degree in bioengineering at CU Denver.  When not at Sylvan, Ryan enjoys games, reading and time with his dog.
  • Josiah Trawick, Instructor

    Josiah Trawick


    Josiah joins Sylvan as an upper level and elementary math instructor.  He studied physics at CSU, where he also did peer tutoring.  Josiah is a "hometown boy" who played four years of football at Littleton High School.  His tutoring experience also includes working with the Northern Cheyenne Reservation teaching children, leading music, and training new participants.  Josiah enjoys playing his guitar, snowboarding, and spending time with his brothers when he is not at Sylvan.
  • Courtney Lancaster, Instructor

    Courtney Lancaster


    Courtney joins Sylvan with a BS in Business Administration and Church History from Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, TN.  She has a MA in Social Change from Iliff School of Theology in in Denver.  She was drawn to education, through her experience as a Service-Learning Teaching Fellow in Estes Park, and also as an AmeriCorps VISTA leader.  Courtney has taught 2nd/3rd grade elementary classroom, served as a Literacy Intervention Tutor, and is currently an English/Social Studies Teacher at Brightmont Academy in Castle Pines.  When not at Sylvan, Courtney enjoys, art, especially mosaics, hiking and travel.
