Peter Brower

Director

As Director, Peter oversees the operations and educational integrity for Sylvan of Huntersville. A former Psychology instructor and after-school site coordinator, Peter chose a career at Sylvan to help families find their own path to educational achievement and academic confidence. Peter studied Psychology at Pennsylvania State University and Springfield College. When he’s not at Sylvan, Peter enjoys playing soccer and golf, as well as great movies, cooking, and afternoons on the lake.

Wendy Schuster

Regional Director

As Regional Director, Wendy oversees our centers in Charlotte – Mooresville, Huntersville, Ballantyne, Matthews, & Union County. A former classroom teacher and administrator, Wendy chose a career in the tutoring business because she wanted a more personal experience with the children. She obtained her Master’s in Ed. Leadership at University of GA. When Wendy isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her walking her dog at the park or watching UGA football.

Cindy Presnell

Admissions Director

Cindy has been an integral part of our Sylvan team since 2004. As our Admissions Director, Cindy introduces parents to Sylvan, and we don’t know what we would do without her! When Cindy isn’t at Sylvan, she is training her dog, spending time with her family and friends, and looking forward to trips to the beach.

Debbie Londer

Tutor

Ms. Debbie is a kindergarten teacher in Charlotte, NC with a talent for working with children. While Debbie has many tutoring talents, she find the greatest joy working in our Beginning Reading Program. She earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota and her MA from the University of St. Thomas. When Debbie isn’t at Sylvan Huntersville-Lake Norman, you will find her playing with her toy Fox Terrier dog named Timmy and spending time with her husband.

Nikolas Howell

Tutor

Nikolas is a high school math teacher in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools with a gift for working with kids of all ages. While Nikolas has many tutoring talents, he finds his greatest joy in working with our upper level Math students, as well as our SAT/ACT Prep program. He earned his BA in Biology/Mathematics from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. When Nikolas is not at Sylvan Learning he serves as an assistant high school football coach.

Angela is currently an elementary school teacher in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools after previously spending several years in her native Virginia as teacher in the Norfolk Public Schools. While Angela has many tutoring talents, she truly enjoys working with our youngest students in our Beginning Reading Program. She studied at Virginia Wesleyan College earning her BA in Education. When Angela isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending her days with family and friends.
