  The Boys are doing really well. What a huge change for C! He is reading in most of his spare time at school and is enjoying it. He really likes Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. He wouldn't even touch a book "with that many words and pages" last year. Math is also going fine. In general, he is more confident and very positive about school. R is also doing well. I can't believe how much better his penmanship is. He is not afraid of a challenge and is patient as he works through harder reading material. I am not sure where he has scored with his reading level, but I know that he will keep making great progress because he has the tools and excitement for reading. I am volunteering in both classrooms. It has been great to see the boys in class and get to know their teachers. We are so happy with the Sylvan program. Thanks!

  Since my son has been coming to Sylvan these last three months, I have seen a great change in him. My son now enjoys reading! He also has more confidence in doing his school work.  Sylvan can be the support and solution when a child is struggling in school. Sylvan provides the extra learning skills and tutoring when a student needs assistance in mastering various reading skills that a school may not have the resources to provide.   My daughter recently completed Sylvan's math program. When she began, she was well behind where she needed to be and her confidence in math was low. The program made positive improvements for my daughter. Sylvan provided my daughter with the skills and confidence she needs to succeed not only in math, but in school. Before, completing math homework was a nightmare and now it is far more enjoyable. She spends less time on her math homework, which frees up more time for her other classes. While Sylvan was a huge investment in both time and money, the benefits certainly outweigh these. Taking my daughter to Sylvan was a wise decision and one I am very happy with!

  Just about a year ago, my wife and I were at a crossroads with our daughter. Over her 5th grade year we had become increasingly concerned with her ability to comprehend what she was reading. Reading was a struggle and a fight every night and her grades were reflecting her lack of confidence and effort. We solicited the expertise of Sylvan. Her initial testing put her reading level in the first months of 4th grade and she was in the last quarter of 5th grade. While attending Sylvan two hours a week for almost one year her improvement is outstanding. Homework is no longer a nightly struggle and she has been nearly a straight A student in her 6th grade year, on the honor roll for three quarters, and was nominated to take part in an enhanced learning program. Not only does she show interest in reading, she now understands how to apply what she has read which is a huge confidence boost. When she left Sylvan she had improved three grades in one year!
