Meet Our Team

As a Center Director, Anum leads day to day operations along with a team of passionate educators dedicated to helping students thrive. Anum worked in hospitality and sales for nearly two decades. With her experience and knowledge, she is committed to create personalized learning experiences that inspire students to excel.

Joanie oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors.  Joanie brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Katy and experience in the training and management of personnel dedicated to customer service.

Jackie has dedicated her entire adult life to the improvement of children’s reading and math skills.  She specializes in middle school reading and math.

Shaun is a certified math and science tutor with a gift for working with kids in advanced math and science topics.  He has more than 12 years of experience teaching at Sylvan Learning centers and enjoys seeing his students succeed, whether in class or on SAT/ACT exams.  Shaun graduated from Lamar University with a BS in Biology.

Careen is a certified teacher in Katy, Texas.  She specializes in elementary and middle school math and reading, with over 20 years of experience in the education field.

Megan is a certified teacher from Katy ISD with a gift for working with kids.  Megan is certified in elementary education and specializes in early reading education.

Rosie is a teacher at Sylvan of Katy and Houston.  Her specialty is reading instruction through middle school age, as well as math instruction at the elementary school level.
