Our tutors and staff in Harker Heights-Killeen consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Harker Heights know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Jeneisa Davis

    CENTER DIRECTOR

    Jeneisa oversees the educational integrity of our programs. She also manages and trains our team of exceptional tutors. She is a graduate of the Texas Lutheran University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Multidiscipline Studies with her teaching certification in EC-6 Generalist. In her free time, Jeneisa enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with her friends and family. While teaching, Jenesia enjoyed seeing the children excited about school, learning and seeing them reach their full potential. Her excitement for children is one of the reasons she came to Sylvan.

    Josh is a graduate of the Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a degree in Bible & Theology. Currently pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in marketing from Grand Canyon University, Josh is a strong believer that the future will always be brighter when we invest it. With that in mind, he is an outgoing person who is passionate about working with children. In his spare time, Josh enjoys fishing, playing guitar and spending time with his family.

    CERTIFIED MATHEMATICS TEACHER

    Tim is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He also has a Master's Degree in Physics from Texas A & M University. Tim is a very special teacher. He is exceptional at all math courses, and he also teaches chemistry, physics, and some of our STEM courses. Students of all ages really like Tim, because he is positive and knows how to connect with kids. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking.

    Dee Ann Green became a teacher in order to impact the futures of children in a positive way. She has a Bachelor's degree from Texas A & M University. She is certified to teach EC-4 as well as EC-12 Special Education. Dee lives on a small farm and is a grandmother of three children. She like to quilt and she describes herself as a determined person who has an ambition to succeed.

    Betty Selvy entered teaching because she believes that education is the key to everything and she wanted to help kids utilize every opportunity. Betty is a graduate of Arkansas State University with a B.S. Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She also has a Masters degree in Education Administration, allowing her to gain experience as both a teacher & principal. Betty consistently gets along well with others and enjoys relaxing with a nice walk or book.

    LaDean Huser is a Bryan University alumni with a passion for helping children enjoy learning. She holds several preschool and early childhood certifications that empower her to support young learners. She is a helpful, loving person who enjoys reading and listening to music during her free time.

    CERTIFIED TEACHER

    Mary loves teaching with a passion and feels so humbled to be teaching tomorrow's leaders. She holds a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Jackson State University in Mississippi and a Masters degree in Education from the University of Maryland College University in Maryland. She is currently a Doctoral candidate of Special Education at Walden University. She loves spending time with her family, reading, fine arts and helping others. She believes that no stress is always a great thing!

    Levona decided to become a teacher because she likes children and enjoys watching them learn. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Harding University, and a Master's Degree in English from Arkansas State University, as well as an ESL certification from the University of Texas.  She is certified to teach English, Reading, History, Language Arts, and ESL. In her free time, she enjoys reading and quilting.

    Minnie got into teaching to help students better themselves. She has a Bachelors degree in Business, a Masters degree in Instructional Technology and a Masters in Education in Teaching with emphasis in special needs. She enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

    Deborah decided to become a teacher in order to work with students so that they could maximize their potential. She attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Tarleton State University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Education Administration. She also holds a Texas Teaching Certificate. When she is not at Sylvan she enjoys homeschooling her grandchild. She also like gardening,

    Lynn Grant decided to become a teacher as she has always been interested in helping children. She has a Bachelor's degree in Government from Clark University and a Lifetime Elementary Education Certificate from St. Edwards University. She enjoys staying current with news events. She is very patient with the students and excels at teaching young readers.

    Lyle is a soft-spoken person and a very good teacher. He has a way of earning the trust of students and values being able to teach kids. Lyle is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's Degree in Computer Educations and Cognitive Studies. Lyle prides himself on being a very honest person with good moral standards. In his free time, he likes to read.

    Barbara decided to get into teaching as her mother struggled with school when she was younger. Barbara wanted to help students struggling like her. She has a Bachelor's in Special Education with a concentration in Psychology and Learning Disabilities from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She is certified in special education and K-12. In her spare time she makes glass collage art from shattered and recycled glass and spends time with her sons and grandchildren. She also continues to take classes to continue and further her education.
