Our tutors and staff in Kingsport consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Kingsport know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Executve Director

    Leanna is the Executive Director for Sylvan of Kingsport. As Executive Director, she oversees operations for both the center in Kingsport and the satellite location in Bristol, TN. Leanna chose a career in the tutoring business because she loves to see the 'light bulb' come on when a students' needs are met and to see their confidence soar! She studied at Temple University in Chattanooga, TN. When Leanna isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her taking part in church activities or running the roads with her mom.
  • Pat Sykes, Instructor

    Pat Sykes

    Instructor

    Pat is an instructor in Kingsport, TN with a love for working with kids. While Pat has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Beginning Reading tutoring. She earned her education degree from Andersonville Seminary. When Pat isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, working on lessons for church, or enjoying time with her husband and grandchildren.
  • Steve Lane, Instructor

    Steve Lane

    Instructor

    Steve Lane focuses primarily on higher math courses at Sylvan, though he has the ability to teach any level math as well as reading. He has an unique ability to break down math processes to each individual student & encourages them along the way. Steve has several math/science degrees from UT, ETSU, & Univ. of GA. When not at Sylvan, he enjoys playing pinball and taking care of his cats.
