We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Debbie Tillinger
Center Director
As Center Director, Debbie Tillinger leads all aspects of Sylvan Learning of Summerlin. A former teacher, Debbie chose a career at Sylvan Learning because she loves giving students individualized attention. She studied at Framingham State University in Massachusetts. When Debbie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her enjoying life in Las Vegas.
Vava C. Schroeder, M. Ed.
Director of Education
Vava C. Schroeder oversees the educational integrity of our programs and manages and trains our team of instructors in Las Vegas, Nevada. A former teacher in Maryland, Vava brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Summerlin. She received her Master of Education degree from the University of Virginia. When Vava is not at Sylvan, you’ll find her golfing or hiking in the lovely Red Rock Mountains.
Carol B.
Instructor
Carol has been an instructor at Sylvan Learning of Summerlin for over 20 years. She teaches many of the Sylvan programs, and the students know her as one of the friendliest teachers around! We are very happy to have Carol on our Sylvan team.
Dominic C.
Instructor
Dominic has taught for Sylvan Learning of Summerlin for 10 years. His enthusiasm for teaching comes through in everything he does at our Center! We are lucky to have him as part of our staff!
