Kirstin Palermo

Director of Educational Operations

Kirstin leads Sylvan Learning of NE Kansas in implementing educational operations and ensuring the academic growth of every student. Previously the Director of Education at Overland Park Sylvan, Center Director of preschools in Johnson Co, Ks, and former teacher in Wichita Public Schools, Kirstin brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan. She graduated from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and obtained her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Emporia State University. When Kirstin isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her daughter and family, camping, and scrapbooking.

Jamie Webb

Director of Business Operations

Jamie leads Sylvan Learning of NE Kansas in implementing smooth business operations across the franchise. A former teacher at Sylvan, Jamie chose to further his career in the tutoring business because he enjoys working with students, maximizing potential, and working with the community. He studied at the University of Kansas and has a degree in Elementary Education. When Jamie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him watching sports, doing outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family.

Julie Hageman

Center Director

As Center Director, Julie leads our teachers for Sylvan of Lawrence. Julie chose a career in the tutoring business because she wants to make education accessible for all. She studied at KU where she majored in Education and have a masters in Curriculum Design and Instruction. When Julie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, biking, yoga, running, and hiking. She loves anything outdoors with nature as a backdrop and soundtrack.

Diane C

Certified Teacher

Diane is a teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Diane has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading, science and social studies tutoring. Diane’s favorite thing about Sylvan is for students realizing they are capable of learning and that learning is fun. She studied at KU and KSU earning a PhD in curriculum & Instruction, Master of Arts in Elementary Education with a focus in Curriculum & Instruction Gifted certification and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. When Diana isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her  reading, exercising, taking care of horses and farm, gardening and learning anything interesting.

Emily S.

Certified Upper Math Sylvan Tutor

Emily is a tutor in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Emily has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Algebra and Calculus tutoring. She currently studying at University of Kansas honors college majoring in Mathematics and Physics and minoring in Classics Antiquity. Her favorite thing about Sylvan is the positive and encouraging attitudes of the teachers. She believes that a positive attitude and self confidence are major keys to success. When Emily isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her doing arts and crafts, cooking and baking, and going outside and being active.

Jackson S.

Certified Teacher

Jackson is a teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Jackson has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in Physics tutoring. He studied at Baker University earning degrees in Physics, Math and Chemistry. The greatest thing about Sylvan is the use of software and educational expertise to create a personalized learning approach for each student. When Jackson isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing basketball, pickleball and fishing.

Juan R.

Certified Teacher

Juan is a teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Juan has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. He studied at Emporium State University earning an Degree in English Education and currently transferring to KU to work on a second Bachelor’s in Mechanical engineering, he also is TEFL certified. The greatest thing about Sylvan is the ability to help leaners of all ages and backgrounds succeed and accomplish their goals. When Juan isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him drawing/painting, playing the guitar, reading/writing, running and traveling .

Katy H.

Certified Teacher

Katy is a teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Katy has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Math tutoring. Katy’s favorite thing about Sylvan is the individualized instruction. She studied at Baker University and Benedictine College earning a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Education. When Katy isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, writing, and diamond painting.

Krista is a teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Krista has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She studied at Emporia State University earning a BA in Elementary Education. Her favorite thing about Sylvan is the way it creates an individual program for each student based on their needs to help students achieve success. When Krista isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, cooking, traveling, spending time with family, and cheering on the Chiefs and Jayhawks.

Logan B.

Certified Lead Teacher

Logan is a lead teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Logan has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading tutoring. She graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and is now studying at the University of Kansas School of Law. When Logan isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her hiking, doing arts and crafts, and playing board games.

Sheree P.

Certified Teacher

Sheree is a teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Sheree has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in psychology and reading tutoring. The greatest thing Sheree enjoys about Sylvan is the individual and personal attention given to each student. She studied at Fort Hays State University earning a Bachelors in Business Education and a Masters in School Counseling. When Sheree isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading and doing puzzles. However, her greatest joy is being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Anna-Marie is a teacher in Lawrence, KS with a gift for working with kids. While Anna-Marie has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Reading tutoring. She studied at Emporia State University earning a Secondary Education, BSE and KS Teaching License. The best thing about Sylvan for Anna-Marie is how seriously Sylvan takes learning.  When Anna-Marie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, playing with her cats and crafting.

Sarah is a talented teacher from Lawrence, KS who has a gift for working with children. Although she is skilled in many areas of tutoring, Sarah finds the most joy in teaching math. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education K-6 and a Master of Education in Instructional Design & Technology from Baker and Sam Houston State, respectively. Sarah believes that the best thing about Sylvan is how it helps children improve their academic skills and boosts their confidence. This confidence is essential for kids as they face new learning challenges in the future. When she is not at Sylvan, Sarah enjoys spending time with her children and participating in various activities with them. She also likes to travel.
