Tommy S.
Center Director
As Center Director, Tommy leads enrollment, marketing, and administration for Sylvan of Livonia. A former instructor and Director of Education, he has been part of our Sylvan family for 11 years! Tommy chose a career in the tutoring business because he wants to help as many students as possible succeed. He earned his degrees at Grand Valley State University. Tommy enjoys spending his free time doing home renovations, playing volleyball, and volunteering with the youth ministry at his church.
Tanya
Center Director
As Center Director, Tanya leads enrollment, marketing, and administration for Sylvan of Livonia. A graduate of Bowling Green State University and former corporate trainer, Tanya brings a great combination of teaching and business knowledge to Sylvan! In her free time, you can find Tanya spending quality time with her friends and family or enjoying a good book!
Amanda
Director of Education
Amanda oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Livonia. A former 5th grade teacher in Redford, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Livonia. She graduated from Central Michigan University. When Amanda isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading or out on the golf course.
Michelle
Tutor
Michelle has been an instructor with the Sylvan Learning Center of Livonia for over 20 years! In that time she has instructed many students and helped them develop a love of learning. She studied at the University of Michigan. When Michelle isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her working on her latest scrapbook.

Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. She loves teaching our math and reading programs, but her greatest passion is to work with young readers and help them develop a love of reading!
Austin
Tutor
Austin has many tutoring talents, but he finds the greatest joy in teaching mathematics. Austin earned his degree from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Austin has a passion for teaching kids and making learning fun! When Austin isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing volleyball, video games, and board games!
Judy
Tutor
Judy is a teacher here in Livonia with a gift of working with kids of all ages. She earned her degree from Eastern Michigan University. Judy especially enjoys teaching our reading program because she loves to nurture the feeling that students get when they realize that they CAN do it! In her free time, you can find Judy creating art and spending time with her family.
Lanita
Tutor
Lanita is a tutor here in Livonia with a gift for working with kids of all ages. Lanita loves that she has the opportunity to impact and enrich student learning. She studied at Wayne State University. When Lanita isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading or watching a good movie.
