Our tutors and staff in Lubbock consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Lubbock know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. Mike Sullivan

Executive Director / Owner

As Executive Director, Mike oversees all directors, facilitators, and teachers in the Abilene, Lubbock, and Ft. Worth Sylvan Learning Centers. Mike purchased the Abilene Sylvan Learning Center in May 2000, Lubbock Center in November 2002, and Ft. Worth Centers in September 2014. He has a BA from Hardin-Simmons University. He is the President of the Board of the Serenity Foundation of Texas and Vice President of the Board of Pregnancy Resources of Abilene. He's been married to Cindy Sullivan for 35 years. When Mike isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him reading, snow skiing, hiking, or traveling.
Matthew Sullivan

Executive Director / Owner

As Executive Center Director and Owner, Matthew oversees all operations and manages the directors, facilitators, and students of the Abilene, Lubbock, and Ft. Worth centers. A former business development specialist for Documation, Matthew chose a career in the tutoring business because he enjoys the relationships he gets to build with kids and the ability to impact their educational future. He studied at Abilene Christian University where he earned a BBA in Management. When Matthew isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him weight lifting, snow skiing, or working on his house.
Jordan Levin

Director

Jordan oversees the educational integrity of our programs. He also manages and trains our team of Directors and instructors in the Lubbock office. As an alumni and former employee of Texas Tech University, Jordan brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan Learning Center of Lubbock. When Jordan isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him at his CrossFit gym, enjoying sports and the outdoors, spending time with his dog, Berkley, and actively serving in his church.
Mary Allred

Teacher

Mary is one of our reading teachers here at Sylvan Learning Center. She works great with all ages and is always full of positive encouragement.
Miriam Aramouni

Teacher

Miriam always finds a creative way to help students understand their lessons. She always has a smile on her face and makes learning fun! She tutors Academic Reading and Math Essentials at various levels. She studied at Lubbock Christian University and enjoys traveling, watching movies, and baking.
Michelle McGinnis

Teacher

Michelle is a dedicated teacher who engages students by asking critical thinking questions. While she has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in teaching Academic Reading. She studied at Lubbock Christian University and enjoys reading and spending time with family.
Aaron Peralez

Teacher

Aaron is a reading and writing teacher in Meadow, TX. He brings a lot of possitivity to instruction and his students make fantastic progress. He does an excellent job connecting with each student and giving them constructive feedback that helps them develop new skills. Both Aaron and his wife Elizabeth are valued members of our teaching staff here at Sylvan Learning Ceenter of Lubbock.
Elizabeth Peralez

Teacher

Elizabeth is a teacher in the Lubbock area. She brings great energy and a positive attitude to instruction. She does an excellent job of individualizing her instruction to each student and her students consistently leave with a renewed sense of confidence and positivity. Elizabeth teaches in both our Academic Reading and Math Essentials programs. Both Elizabeth and her husband Aaron are valued members of our teaching staff here at Sylvan Learning Ceenter of Lubbock.She will be getting married this summer and we are very excited for her.
Karen Storie

Tutor

Karen is one of our most experienced tutors and has greatly contributed to the success of out students over the years. She teaches a variety of subjects to students at any level including math, reading, writing, and SAT/ACT. She studied at Texas Tech University and when she isn't at Sylvan of Lubbock you'll find her spending time with her husband and her dogs.
Trudy Williams

Teacher

Trudy taught in the public school system for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience to our teaching staff. She teaches in our Academic Reading and Math Essentials programs. She uses her experience to help her make connections with the students and makes learnign fun and relatable.
Kim Witherspoon

Teacher

Kim is a reading and math teacher in Lubbock ,Texas. While Kim has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in working with reading students. She studied at Texas Tech to get her masters in special education. When Kim isn't at Sylvan, you can find her spending time with family and her dogs.
