Our tutors and staff in Mission Viejo consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Mission Viejo know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.   • Kulvinder Griffin, Executive Director

    Kulvinder Griffin

    Executive Director

    Kulvinder Griffin received her Bachelor of Arts and Teaching Credential at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. She taught grades three through five before becoming a Reading Recovery teacher. Kulvinder has been with Sylvan for over fifteen years in the positions of Teacher, Test Administrator, Director of Education and Center Director in the Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Claremont, Glendora and Chino centers. As the new owner of the Corona Center, Kulvinder is very excited to work with the students, parents, and the community. When not working, you will find Kulvinder trying to keep up with her two young sons Brycen and Shane.

    Dawn received her BA in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development and Counseling from California State University, Fresno. Dawn believes her purpose in life is to help children recognize their potential and achieve their goals in all subjects. She has a passion for teaching and mentoring, especially students preparing for college and secondary education. Dawn also loves teaching dance, gymnastics, and playing board games when she is not at Sylvan.

    Courtney received her BA in Literature from UC Irvine and her Masters in Education from National University. Courtney specializes in our reading and writing programs. She loves to inspire others to explore the art of literature and the written word. When Courtney isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her exercising, writing, and going on adventures.

    Peace Dada

    Instructor

    Peace received her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Riverside. She specializes in our math, reading and SAT Math programs. Peace is passionate about helping students grow and overcome their learning obstacles. When Peace isn't at Sylvan, she enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family.

    Cailena received her BA in Creative Writing from the University of California, Riverside. She is currently working towards her Master’s and teaching credentials in Special Education at California Baptist University. In her free time, Cailena enjoys going on food adventures, staying active and traveling.
  • Blake Lovullo, Instructor

    Blake Lovullo

    Instructor

    Blake is a teacher in the Mission Viejo, CA, Sylvan Learning Center with a gift for working with kids. While Blake has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in tutoring reading and writing. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English at Azusa Pacific University. When Blake isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him reading, hiking, or playing the drums. 
  • Alex Soltani, Instructor

    Alex Soltani

    Instructor

    Alex joined Sylvan of Mission Viejo in September 2020. Previously, he has worked at Sylvan locations in Irvine, Laguna Niguel, and Tustin. Alex has also worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a Clinical Research Associate and Research Coordinator at different sites. Alex specializes in upper-level math, but enjoys teaching all subjects offered by Sylvan. In his spare time, Alex enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with his family, especially his wife Marie.
