Our tutors and staff in Northwest Omaha consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Omaha know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Missy is a former CPA, graduated from Doane College. She chose a career in the tutoring business because it's been a huge part of her family since 1996. She loves spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors (paddle boarding, fishing, etc.), and a good book. Missy loves seeing the impact Sylvan has made on families and the surrounding community.

    Center Director

    A former teacher of 27 years, Kim chose a career in the tutoring business because of the positive impact and significant difference we can make in the lives of students across various age ranges and of different learning abilities. She studied at Northwest Missouri State University for her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education/Learning Disabilities and Newman University for her Masters Degree in Building Leadership. When Kim isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her daughters, playing with her dog, Valerie, trying out new restaurants with friends, enjoying movies and concerts, traveling as much as possible, or just sitting on the couch watching "The Great British Baking Show.”

    Carol is the Early Intervention Teacher for the Blair Community Schools with a gift for working with children with multiple needs. While Carol has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in discovering how best to help a student learn. Carol earned her Bachelor's Degree from the State University College at Buffalo, N.Y., and her Master's Degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. When Carol isn't at Sylvan, you will find her spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, or reading.

    Donnie is a substitute teacher in Omaha, NE with a gift for working with kids. While Donnie has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in teaching social studies and reading. He studied at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. When Donnie isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him reading or outside enjoying nature.

    Erin Haddock is a Middle School Teacher in Omaha, NE with a gift for working with kids. While Erin has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She studied at Dordt College and has a degree in Elementary Education and Middle School Math and Science. When Erin isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her singing with her choir, Madrigali Et Al, knitting, or spending time with her husband and pets, Fidgit (dog), and Dormeowmu (cat).

    Susan is a retired secondary math teacher who taught advanced math in Oklahoma for over 15 years. Prior to teaching, Susan worked in finance after completing her degree in Accounting from Ohio University. She recently relocated to Omaha to be closer to her 7 grandchildren, and she enjoys reading, traveling, and playing with her Great Danes.

    Sara is an Omaha native who is passionate about teaching. She loves reading, writing, learning languages, and music. She graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Classical Languages, and is excited to bring her enthusiasm for learning to Sylvan's students.

    Kristin is a teacher in Omaha, NE with a gift for working with kids. While Kristin has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in high school English and ACT/SAT Prep tutoring. She studied at the University of Nebraska Lincoln in Secondary Education. When asked why she became a teacher Kristin said " I have wanted to be a teacher since I can remember. I enjoy working with my students and helping them become stronger and more confident readers." Kristin has been teaching high school English for 15 years. When Kristin isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her five children.

    Molly Hare is a media specialist in Omaha, NE with a gift for working with kids. While Molly has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in teaching reading and writing skills. She holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education, 7-12 language arts, as well as a master's degree in secondary education with a PK-12 Library Science certification. When Molly isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her doing many activities with her husband and two younger daughters.
