Justin Campbell

Center Director

Justin is a Center Director with years of experience in the education field, working with all types of students from Kindergarten to college-age, including a diverse abundance of students with different needs. He attended the University of Houston – Victoria where he focused on Science and Education. He is very passionate about students growing academically and gaining confidence. He enjoys supporting our certified teachers in their impactful work with students. He also is excited to be a part of the positive changes in education that students receive at Sylvan. He regularly enjoys going hiking, watching some good movies at film festivals, and reading a new book.

Susan Bullock

Director of Education

Susan has worked for Sylvan for over 10 years. She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. She also attended Lamar University where she earned her master’s in Educational Leadership. Susan is certified to teach Elementary Education. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family & friends as well as gardening, antiquing, and spending time with her two dogs. At Sylvan, Susan loves to see kids achieve their goals and is dedicated to their success.

Marlena Johns

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Marlena graduated with her bachelor’s in Education from the University of Houston, She has been teaching for over 20 years here in the Spring/Tomball area. She is proud of all the children she has helped grow academically. Marlena is a published author of four books. She also helps teach writing workshops for people who want to become authors.

Lynn Jamail

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Lynn is a certified English Language Arts teacher who studied at the University of Texas at Austin. She began teaching after a teacher inspired her to pursue her passion and make an impact on students. Outside of Sylvan, Lynn enjoys cooking, gardening, and reading.

Lindsey Johnson

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Lindsey loves teaching all things English and Science! While she has many tutoring talents, she really enjoys teaching reading, early math, and writing. Lindsey is a graduate of Sam Houston State University. Lindsey likes to spend her free time with her family doing activities together. She is an avid reader and movie-goer as well.

Matthew Biasucci

SYLVAN CERTIFIED MATH TEACHER

Matthew Biasucci is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. Matt’s background makes him a great addition to our math team. His love of learning is evident as he enthusiastically shares his knowledge of math with his students. When not teaching, Matt enjoys hockey, rugby, body building and chess.

Salem James

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Salem is a graduate of LeTourneau University with a bachelor’s degree in English. She holds certifications in grades 6-12, including ESL certification. The excitement on her students faces when they are learning gives her great enjoyment. In her spare time away from teaching she finds pleasure in spending time with her own children.

Jennifer Griffith

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Jennifer Griffith earned an Associate of Arts degree from Lone Star, before attending Sam Houston State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then completed her Master of Arts degree from Texas State. Jennifer is certified to teach ELAR, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. In her spare time, Mrs. Griffith loves to read, craft, watch documentaries and garden. Jennifer has always enjoyed working with young people, finding them to be inspiring.

Kelvin Mays

SYLVAN CERTIFIED MATH TEACHER

Kelvin Mays believes that education is a way to introduce children to their potential. He was inspired by great teachers, and he wants to instill that inspiration within his students. Kelvin received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston. He is currently certified in Science and Mathematics for grades 7th- 12th. Outside of Sylvan he loves reading young adult fiction and biography books. He is also an avid bowling enthusiast! Overall, Kelvin is passionately focused on building relationships based on kindness and respect.

Heather Houlihan

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Heather Houlihan graduated from Iona University in New Rochelle, New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also earned a Master of Education Degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. Heather became a teacher because she enjoys helping children learn and discover new things. But, most of all, she finds teaching to be rewarding. When not teaching, Ms. Heather enjoys watching baseball, going to the beach, traveling, and playing with her cats.

Rekha Chabra

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Rekha received her master’s in education from New Delhi, India where she is from. She has been teaching for over 27 years around the world. She loves watching the kids come alive when they learn something new. She feels pure joy when a student lights up and that is her favorite part of teaching kids. In her free time, she loves to do art and is a successful painter.

Robert Randle

CERTIFIED MATHEMATICS TEACHER

Robert is a tutor at the Sylvan Learning Center of NW Houston with a gift for working with kids.  While Robert has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in tutoring Math and SAT/ACT.  Robert is a graduate of the University of North Texas and American Intercontinental University.  He holds a Secondary Math certificate.  In his free time, Robert enjoys music and sports.

Cecily Frazier

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Cecily Frazier graduated from Texas State University. Teaching became her passion as she loves helping minds to develop. Cecily enjoys reading in her spare time. She is both funny, and compassionate, which makes her a wonderful addition to our Sylvan Instructional Team.

Alisha Slater

CERTIFIED TEACHER

Alisha Slater is a graduate of University of South Florida with her bachelor’s in education and Spanish. She obtained her master’s in law from St. Thomas University. She has had over thirty years working with students in a variety of tutoring programs. She has a huge heart for kids learning. Her passion is showing kids fun and exciting ways to learn. When not teaching she loves exploring outdoors and reading in her free time.
