Our tutors and staff in West Spring and Klein consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Spring know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school. Get to know our tutors and staff in West Spring and Klein!

  • Carleka Spann, CENTER DIRECTOR

    Carleka Spann


    Carleka is a graduate of Greenville University where she earned her Bachelor's in Organizational Leadership. Her professional background includes advocating for children and students with special needs with an extensive history in social work and social services. Carleka has a passion for serving others and is excited to be a part of the Sylvan team, where she can continue changing lives. She is a published author and public speaker who enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and trying out new restaurants and foods. A true “foodie” at heart! She believes that we all have a purpose in life, and it’s up to us to find it and live it! 
  • Justin Campbell, DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

    Justin Campbell


    Justin is a Director of Education with years of experience in the education field, working with all types of students from Kindergarten to college-age, including a diverse abundance of students with different needs. He attended the University of Houston – Victoria where he focused on Science and Education. He is very passionate about students growing academically and gaining confidence. He enjoys supporting our certified teachers in their impactful work with students. He also is excited to be a part of the positive changes in education that students receive at Sylvan. He regularly enjoys going hiking, watching some good movies at film festivals, and reading a new book.
  • Susan Bullock, CERTIFIED TEACHER

    Susan Bullock


    Susan has worked for Sylvan for over 10 years. She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. She also attended Lamar University where she earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership. Susan is certified to teach Elementary Education. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family & friends as well as gardening, antiquing, and spending time with her two dogs. At Sylvan, Susan loves to see kids achieve their goals and is dedicated to their success.

    Lynn Jamail


    Lynn is a certified English Language Arts teacher who studied at the University of Texas at Austin. She began teaching after a teacher inspired her to pursue her passion and make an impact on students. Outside of Sylvan, Lynn enjoys cooking, gardening, and reading. 
  • Lindsey Johnson, CERTIFIED TEACHER

    Lindsey Johnson


    Lindsey loves teaching all things English and Science! While she has many tutoring talents, she really enjoys teaching reading, early math, and writing. Lindsey is a graduate of Sam Houston State University. Lindsey likes to spend her free time with her family doing activities together. She is an avid reader and movie-goer as well.

    As a graduate of Prairie View A&M, Dominique holds two master's degrees in Educational Administration and Reading Interdisciplinary Studies. As a certified Special Education teacher, Dominique loves teaching and working with every single student she comes across. In her free time, Dominique enjoys painting, learning, and cheering for the Saints.
  • Lynda Goldstein, CERTIFIED TEACHER

    Lynda Goldstein


    Lynda is a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Lynda tutored many students in college over the years and it helped her flourish her love of academics. She has since retired, but wants to share her love for learning with younger students. She finds great satisfaction in helping others and showing them effective methods for studying and test prep! In her spare time, she loves traveling and painting on the weekends.

    Pam Mahalec


    Since she was a child, Pam knew she wanted to be a teacher. Pam attended the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor’s in Education and attended Lamar University where she earned her Master’s in Education Technology. As a certified Elementary, Special Education, and Pre-K teacher, Pam has always found that helping students thrive was her calling. Outside of Sylvan, Pam enjoys reading, gardening, and dancing. 
  • Denaly Morales-Sheldon, SYLVAN CERTIFIED TUTOR

    Denaly Moralez-Sheldon is a graduate of Texas A&M – Commerce with a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies. Denaly dreams to be a school counselor one day, she knows that her proactiveness, dependability, and organizational skills will help her get there! In her free time Denaly reading and cooking.

    Robert Randle


    Robert is a tutor at the Sylvan Learning Center of NW Houston with a gift for working with kids.  While Robert has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in tutoring Math and SAT/ACT.  Robert is a graduate of the University of North Texas and American Intercontinental University.  He holds a Secondary Math certificate.  In his free time, Robert enjoys music and sports.

    Randy Saxon


    Mr. Randy Saxon is a graduate of Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a Master’s in Education. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children whilst developing a relationship with his faith. Randy would describe himself as friendly, authentic, and sincere.

    LaDarien Strauss


    LaDarien is a tutor at the Sylvan Learning Center of West Spring with a gift for working with kids. LaDarien is a graduate of Alcorn State with a Bachelors's in Business and earned his Master’s in Business from Texas Southern University. He found his love to teach after he graduated and went on to get his teaching certification in Early Childhood through 8th grade. In his free time, LaDarien enjoys lifting weights, traveling, and reading poetry. He wants to see kids succeed, always do their best, and make a last impact on their lives.
