Great Teachers Inspire

Our tutors and staff in Olivette consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in St. Louis know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school. Get to know our tutors and staff in Olivette!

  • Donna Aggugelo, Center Director

    Donna Aggugelo

    Center Director

    Donna has been with Sylvan for 17 years. She has a  BA in Elementary Education for grades K-8 and a minor in psychology and Spanish. Her masters degree is in curriculum and instruction. She has had 30 years of teaching experience with 10 years teaching in Texas and 20 years teaching in the Hazelwood School District. Donna has been a director at Sylvan for 5 years. The success she's seen the students achieve over the years at Sylvan has been very rewarding and keeps her motivated. At home Donna enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and watching baseball, football and hockey games.
  • Danielle Schlueter, Director of Education

    Danielle Schlueter

    Director of Education

    Danielle has worked with Sylvan Learning for almost a decade in various roles. Initially working in Operations in the after-school Ace-it! Programs, and also a tutor in the program,  Danielle later transitioned to working in the Center as a tutor and center assistant & then into the current role of Director of Education. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Virginia Tech University. After completing her graduate program and receiving her teaching license, she worked as a classroom schoolteacher teaching 1st grade for several years. When Danielle isn't at Sylvan, she enjoys visiting some of the great parks St. Louis has to offer and traveling to new places.
  • Shera Ross, Tutor

    Shera Ross

    Shera is a retired History teacher in St. Louis, with a gift for working with kids. While Shera has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in tutoring Early Literacy and Academic Reading to our Sylvan students.  She received her B.A. in Education with a concentration in Social Studies from Maryville University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University, as well as a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.  When Shera  isn’t at Sylvan, her favorite activities are spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and playing with her two little dogs, Prince and Princess!
  • Bob Hudgins, Tutor

    Bob Hudgins

    Tutor

    Bob received his BA in history from Washington University. He has been with Sylvan since 2016. He has a background in broadcasting and went back to school for a teaching certificate in secondary education for social studies. He teaches ACT prep and reading at Sylvan. Bob enjoys working out and staying fit when he is not at Sylvan.

    Kathy is a reading specialist at a school in St. Louis. She has her bachelor's degree and Masters of Elementary Education from UMSL When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes two children, a son and daughter.

    Caroline graduated with her Bachelor of Elementary Education and Special Education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. She taught 2 years in elementary and has been a case manager for 4 years. Her specialty is working with early reading and math students. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing games and watching movies.

    Tutor

    James has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Lindenwood University. He is currently working on his master's degree in mathematics at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. He has been tutoring math since his senior year of high school and loves helping others to learn. In high school he was recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction, competed in Scholar Quiz Bowl, and achieved a 99th percentile composite score on his ACT. At Lindenwood University, he graduated with a 4.0 GPA, was Vice President of the Math Club, and received the 2021 Leroy E. Evans Mathematics Student of the Year Award with a unanimous vote. He values and loves learning new things, which is why he works at Sylvan.

    Tutor

    Harry received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Math and Physics from Washington University. He is currently a teacher at Soldan International Studies High School, where he teaches math. He eventually wants to go to graduate school for a master's degree and possibly a PhD in theoretical physics. When he is not working or studying, he is either playing the trumpet in the Wash U Jazz Band, writing letters to his friends from other countries, or watching YouTube videos.

    Sharonda received an Master of Arts in Special Education from Fontbonne University and an Master of Science in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University. She has a background in special education and has worked in the field of education for over 15 years.
  • Salomi Inje, Tutor

    Salomi Inje

    Tutor

    Salomi is an assistant pre-k teacher who enjoys working with kids of all ages. Salomi acquired her two bachelor’s degrees in molecular biology and Spanish from Rockhurst University. Her greatest joy through tutoring is watching students gain confidence in their abilities and enjoy the learning process. When not at Sylvan, Salomi loves painting, reading, and petting her two cats, Nala and Pierre.

    Tutor

    Mary is a retired teacher and started with Sylvan as a tutor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from Webster University and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in TESOL from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has over 30 years of teaching experience in the U.S. and abroad. Mary enjoys yoga, reading and walking her dogs.

    Before moving to St. Louis, Ashleah taught school in Northern California for almost a decade. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis and a master's in Education from University of Rochester. She loves helping young learners learn, make connections, and grow confident in their abilities.
