Our tutors and staff in Oviedo consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Oviedo know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Center Director

    As Center Director, Ana leads everyday operations at Sylvan of Oviedo. A former Marketing Manager for Nestle Purina, Ana chose a career in the tutoring business because she believes in the power of education. She is passionate to see kids rediscover their love for learning and raise confidence. She holds an MBA, from John Brown University. When Ana isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her family and friends, doing some puzzles, or playing board games.

    Jason McCoskey

    Marketing, Finance, & Operations Support

    As a franchise co-owner, Jason heads up Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Operations Support. He has a dual degree in marketing and international business and comes to the arena with corporate experience in both marketing and project management. In addition to business, he absolutely loves helping kids reach their potential! Building their academic confidence and increasing their skills. When outside of Sylvan, he loves to read books for fun, spend time with family, and watch a favorite show on a streaming service!
  • Deborah Coleman, Education Manager

    Deborah Coleman

    Education Manager

    Deborah has been a teacher in the Seminole County Public Schools since 2016. She earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from UCF. She has taught and tutored students ranging from K-8 in both school and private settings. When Deborah is not at Sylvan, she loves to spend time with her family, working out, reading, and eating good food.
  • Patti Spicuzza, Teacher

    Patti Spicuzza

    Teacher

    Patti is a K-12 certified teacher with more than 10 years of classroom experience in private & public schools. She has also worked as a curriculum designer for an international university, teaching teachers how to teach online. While she has many tutoring talents, she finds the most joy in sharing her love of reading through tutoring the subject with students of all ages. She graduated from Duquesne University with her Bachelors in Elementary Education and later with a Masters as a Reading Specialist. When she isn’t at Sylvan, you can find her with her family or deep in a good book.

    Hannah is currently working as an Elementary teacher in the Seminole County Public School district. While teaching, she is working on her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction for the Middle Level. When not at Sylvan you can find her reading for fun and spending time with her friends and family.

    Kevin Soto

    Teacher

    Kevin is a Sr. Engineering major at UCF. He loves math and teaching it to others. He has proven results helping students build their Algebra, Geometry, Physics, Chemistry, and Calculous skills. He is also one of our expert SAT/ACT coaches, who help students raise their confidence and improve test scores.

    Kelsie attends UCF, majoring in Psychology. She loves working with children, helping them reach their fullest potential. Outside of Sylvan, you can find her volunteering at a Juvenile Detention Center, reading, and drinking coffee.

    Brennan is attending college at the University of Central Florida, currently in his junior year studying Actuarial Science. Brennan has a passion for mathematics and loves spreading that to others. Many students think math is a scary subject, but he believes math can be easy when you've had enough practice! Patience is key when learning new concepts, it is is important to not beat yourself up over the learning curve! Outside of work/school Brennan is an avid drummer, reader, and weightlifter.

    Tatiana is currently a Neuroscience student at UCF. She is motivated and dedicated to be source of inspiration to learn. Tatiana is a big believer that education should be fun and inviting. In her downtime, she dedicates her time to playing tennis, going to the gym, doing research, and spending time with friends and family.

    Mia is studying Elementary Education with a minor in Exceptional Student Education at UCF. She is passionate about ensuring that education is meaningful and enjoyable for all students by utilizing relatable, real-world examples. Once graduated, Mia looks forward to being an elementary teacher in Orange County. Outside of Sylvan, she enjoys going to museums, listening to music, and drinking coffee.

    Brianna is currently working on her Master's degree in Ministry. She is a passionate teacher who enjoys providing her knowledge and expertise of higher-level math. She brings positive and encouraging energy and loves connecting with the students to get them to the next level! She is one of our expert SAT/ACT coaches, who help simplify complex concepts, and ensure students are progressing. Outside of Sylvan, she serves as a Worship and Arts Intern at Oviedo City Church. She also really loves coffee shops, spikeball, and skateboarding!

    Hannah is currently a Communication Sciences and Disorders major at UCF. After completing school, Hannah hopes to continue working with kids in pediatric speech-language pathology. Hannah is passionate about making learning fun and engaging for all children. Outside of Sylvan, you can find her reading or at a local coffee shop!

    Seth is currently studying Civil Engineering at UCF. He has a soft spot for teaching math and really cares about creating an environment where his students are always welcomed and encouraged to ask questions. When Seth has free time, you can expect to see him reading, playing video games, or trying his best to learn drums.
