Dear Sylvan Family,Our community is coping with a difficult situation. While there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our center, public health officials have made it clear that dramatic steps are required to contain the virus and decrease risks of transmission. We communicated recently what our center is doing to ensure everyone’s wellbeing. We have put into practice the recommended social distancing, frequent handwashing and repeated disinfecting of workspaces.
As we weighed the right next steps to take, we were guided by two priorities. First, we are a responsible small business and want to uphold our obligation to keep our community safe and healthy. Second, we want to continue to make it possible for all students to meet their academic goals and reach their fullest potential, which is what Sylvan stands for.Like most organizations, we have been preparing for the possibility of temporary suspension of classes. In light of the newest information, and after careful consideration we have decided to temporarily suspend in person tutoring for starting on Tuesday, March 17th and returning the same day public school resumes and move to virtual learning.
We have remote instruction options ready to begin Monday, March 23rd. If you would like your student(s) included in virtual sessions, please email email@example.com. We feel virtual sessions will help maintain that continuity that children need in a time of crisis and also keep our staff and families healthy and safe. These are extraordinary challenges for our community and for the world. We want to make sure you know we are here to help every way we can. We look forward to seeing you when public schools reopen. Stay safe and healthy!
Sincerely,Your Sylvan Learning Team
