Our tutors and staff in Riverton consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Riverton know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school. Get to know our tutors and staff in Riverton!

  • Lindsay Kapetanov, Center Director

    Lindsay Kapetanov

    Center Director

    Lindsay leads the team for Sylvan of Riverton and Sandy. As a former surgical center nurse, Lindsay has always loved caring for others. She was a Sylvan student 35 years ago and can relate to the struggles and victories that our students experience. She has truly found joy in her position at Sylvan. When Lindsay isn't in one of our centers, she enjoys cooking, eating, theater, animals, and laughter.

    Director of Education

    Lisa oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Riverton. A former teacher in Chicago, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Lisa understands that no one learns the same way, and she adapts quickly to the needs of our students. When Lisa isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her gardening, traveling, scrapbooking, collecting antiques and reading about American History.

    Assistant Center Director

    Bri is the Assistant Center Director for our Riverton center. She works directly with our students and has many operational responsibilities in the center. Bri knew education was the path for her from a young age, she has always been inspired by teachers, educators, and people in her life and decided young that she wanted to be that influential person for others.

    Tutor

    Allen is a teacher in both our Sandy and Riverton centers, with a gift for working with kids on reading, study skills, ACT, and particularly math. Allen enjoys seeing students break math barriers and gain confidence in their learning capabilities. He used to teach in the school districts and is a licensed teacher. When Allen isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him reading or fishing.

    Kate teaches in our Riverton center. She loves working with kids and believes the world is full of possibilities that education can bring within reach. Kate has her degree from BYU and outside of teaching, she enjoys dance, yoga, reading and learning languages.

    Kristy is a tutor in Riverton and became a teacher to make a difference in the lives of her students. She has her degree from BYU. When Kristy isn't teaching, she has fun reading and spending time with her children. She lived in 3 different Latin American countries and enjoys speaking Spanish and eating foods from the countries she has lived in.

    Daniel comes from a family of teachers and tutors in our Riverton center. Daniel loves to learn and has a talent for explaining complex ideas. He received his college education at the University of Utah and WGU. In his free time, Daniel enjoys movies, video games and art.

    Tutor

    Namita has a passion to teach kids who may be struggling to succeed. She is a tutor in our Riverton center and believes teaching should be a passion, not just a job. Namita has her degree from Southern Illinois University. When she isn't teaching, Namita likes to hike, read, paint and enjoy music.

    Tutor

    Mel joined our Riverton Sylvan center as a tutor to help our kids grow academically and gain confidence in the abilities to learn and master new things. Mel has her degree from BYU. Mel understands that each child learns differently, that they are naturally curious and it is important to work with them as individuals. Outside of Sylvan, Mel enjoys video games, playing games, cooking/baking, and traveling.

    Tutor

    Charlene is a tutor in our Riverton center and received her degree from Weber State University. Charlene developed her love of teaching by being a homeschool mom to her two children. She believes learning new things brings joy! Charlene loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys knitting, Brazilian embroidery, music, dance, and nutrition.
