Our tutors and staff in Round Rock consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Round Rock know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.   • Emma Bacon, Center Director

    Center Director

    Emma holds a B.S. in Education from Texas A&M, with a focus in middle school math and science. Emma joined the Round Rock team in January 2022 as Center Director. A former middle school teacher in both Austin and Round Rock, she has taught math and math intervention.
  • Sherri Eggleston, Director of Education

    Sherri Eggleston

    Director of Education

    Sherri is certified in ELA, Special Education, Theatre, Speech/Communication, and Counseling. She obtained a Bachelor of Science-Secondary Education from the University of Minnesota, and a Masters of Education from the University of Houston-Victoria. With 40 years of experience in schools, Sherri joined the Sylvan of Round Rock team in 2018 as a tutor in Reading and Math. At Sylvan, she often teaches Reading, Math, Writing, Study Skills, Homework Support, SAT, ACT, TSI, and more. She also taught a freshmen Strategies for Success course for several years at The Victoria College, but enjoys students of all ages.

    Laurie received a B.A. degree in History from Sam Houston State University. She obtained teacher certification from Howard Payne University with an Elem. Self-Contained Graded 1-8, and Elem. Reading 1-6. The past several years, she has taught elementary students in private/public schools. Laurie has been with Sylvan Learning for 10 years teaching students. At Sylvan, she enjoys seeing the student's joy when they understand the material. Laurie is a native Texan being raised in the country and enjoys watching mystery movies and old western television shows during free time. She also enjoys trying new dessert recipes when time allows.

    Casey is multitalented-teaching reading, math, algebra, geometry, science and SAT/Act prep at our center  With over 18 years experience teaching in Manor ISD and RRIS ISD, Casey joined our Sylvan Team in 2018. He has some unique specialties as a teacher, one of which is Special Education. He is a natural with children, teens, and young adults.

    Holly has been with Sylvan since 2019. She has a  B.A in Interdisciplinary Studies and a MEd. She has over 15 years experience teaching with AISD. Her passion and specialty here at Sylvan is connecting with Early Literacy students. She enjoys spending time with friends and being with her pets!

    With 10 years experience as a middle/high school English/language arts teacher, Kelsey stepped out of the classroom to pursue her Masters and Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at Baylor University. She is multitalented and teaches all levels of literacy, and elementary/middle school math, algebra, science, history; as well as SAT and GRE prep, and collegiate level writing.

    With natural curiosity and tenacity, Emilie is passionate about learning and mentoring. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Secondary Teacher Certification at the University of Houston-Victoria. She is currently enrolled at UT-Austin in a Data Science/Business Analytics Program. At Sylvan, she teaches Math, Reading, Homework Support, SAT/ACT, and virtual classes.

    Writing, Homework Support, Reading/ELA, SAT PrepBrady teaches both in-person and virtual classes at our center. A 2017 Magna Cum Laude graduate of St. Edward's University, Brady obtained a BA in Religious Studies with a minor in History.  His certifications include ELA/Reading grades 7-12, and ESL He enjoys working with small groups and one-to-one, for grades 7-12.

    Michelle brings a unique perspective to Sylvan, with her experience in elementary and middle school in both general and special education,  and is also a published author. Her book, "Listen with Your Heart",  includes suggestions on helping children grieve. She is certified in Reading/ELA grades 7-12, Special Education EC-12, Generalist EC-8, and ESL supplement.  Holding a BA in Social Work from St. Edward's University, Michelle earned her Masters in Social Work Administration at Washington University in St. Louis.
