    Navdeep Batra


    Navdeep is the Owner and Executive Director of multiple Sylvan Learning locations in the greater St Louis area. Navdeep holds a Bachelors in Economics and Psychology and a Masters in Literature and Special Education. As a former High School Math and Special Education teacher with a passion for helping children succeed, Navdeep finds the tutoring business a great fit for her.  Navdeep also has a keen interest in reading, gardening and horseback riding .

    Center Director

    Jackie has been at Sylvan since 2006.  Jackie has worked as a Director at Sylvan Learning of Chesterfield, St. Peters, and Lake St. Louis.  Jackie loves helping families at Sylvan find the right tutoring programs to meet each student's needs!  When Jackie is not at Sylvan, you will find her spending time with her husband and three children.  
  • Mattison Harper, Director of Education

    Mattison Harper

    Director of Education

    Mattison oversees the educational integrity of our programs as well as managing and training our team of tutors. As a former 5th and 6th grade teacher, Mattison brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of St. Peters. She graduated with a degree in elementary education from Missouri State University ( Go Bears! ). When Mattison isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading her favorite book with a hot cup of coffee in her hand, spending time outside with friends, or spending time with her niece and nephew. 
  • Charlotte Engle, Instructor

    Charlotte Engle


    Charlotte comes to Sylvan with a wide range of experience working with kids.  Charlotte works as a Prevention Specialist with middle school kids focusing on mental health concerns and behavioral treatment.  Charlotte also has experience as a literacy teacher at the elementary level.  Charlotte loves working with students on reading and writing skills and also has a knack for math and science.  When not working with students, Charlotte enjoys yoga and spending time with her dog and cat.

    Kim Dollus


    Kim has been at Sylvan of St. Peters since August of 2013.  Kim is a retired Elementary Education teacher of 24 years. Kim has taught grades 1-4 and loves working with younger kids. Kim works with many of the younger Sylvan students.  Kim loves to read and go to movies, and she enjoys spending time with her cats and dog.

    Julie Conlon


    Julie has a BA in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University. Julie is a 5th-grade math teacher in the Ferguson-Florissant school district. Julie loves watching movies (especially Harry Potter), bowling, and playing with her twin nephews when she is not at Sylvan.

    Lexi McMullin


    Lexi is a music teacher in the Rockwood School District.  Lexi also has experience in Special Education and has worked as a paraprofessional in the Francis Howell School District.  Lexi's background is in Music Education with a Masters in Character Education from Lindenwood University.  Lexi has been a substitute teacher in the surrounding school districts and loves working with elementary and middle school students.  Lexi loves playing the piano and clarinet and teaching music lessons. Lexi plays clarinet in the St. Charles Municipal Band, loves seeing movies and hanging out with family and friends.

    Julie Hermon


    Julie is an English as a Second Language teacher of 22 years.  She loves working with children of different ages and different countries.  Julie has taught preschool through high school in a variety of subjects, and has a knack for teaching Spanish.  She loves outdoor activities, travelling, and spending time with her daughters and granddaughter.

    Jelisa Gibbs


    Jelisa received her degree in Psychology at Lindenwood University in 2015. Jelisa is working on her master's degree in school and professional counseling. She has several years of substitute teaching experience and loves working with elementary students in reading and writing. Jelisa loves going to concerts, going to the movies, and having game nights with friends.

    Emma Kostelecky


    Emma comes to Sylvan with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies.  Emma has experience tutoring students from Elementary through high school level in a variety of subjects.  Emma's favorite subject is Science, and she is passionate about enriching the lives of students by engaging their natural curiosity in the field of biological sciences.  
  • Michael Nielsen, Instructor

    Michael Nielsen


    Michael comes to Sylvan with a Masters of Arts in Teaching, a certification in secondary Biology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Biology.  Michael loves working with students of all ages, especially in the areas of Math and Science.  Michael's experience includes teaching high school Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, and is a substitute teacher in the surrounding school districts.
