  • Elena, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Elena

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Bringing a wealth of information from across the world, Elena leads us here at Sylvan with an IRON FIST! But not really. She's a loving mother of two who turned to teaching and education as a career to better guide the learning process of children, including her own. Originally from Romania, educated with a Philosophy degree, and fluent in multi-cultural education, Elena spends most of her free time in outdoor spots including biking and hiking. That is, with two kids, when she can get free time!
  • Jessica Campora, Director of Education

    Jessica Campora

    Director of Education

Jessica is originally from Memphis, TN, but is thrilled to have made the trek to Seattle in 2015! She comes to Sylvan with a Master’s of Arts in Teaching under her belt as well as with both teaching and instructional coaching experience. She has taught everything from STEM subjects to reading! She loves to share her passion for learning and hopes to develop lifelong learners and future leaders! On her days off, she likes to be active through hiking, attending Zumba classes, rooting on some of her favorite sports teams, and- of course- spending time with her two fur babies (AKA dogs)- Chloe and Cooper!
  • Marie, Tutor

    Marie

    Tutor

Marie Rose holds a BS in engineering, specifically aeronautical and mechanical. She started teaching math and science 12 years ago. That hooked her on teaching! She has been teaching and tutoring math and science ever since, including here at Sylvan of Northgate since 2007! Her favorite part is getting the students confident and excited about math and science. Sylvan of Northgate gives her the opportunity to work with kids one-on-one in a way they usually don't get in the classroom. Marie enjoys playing video games, writing stories, drawing and painting, and, of course, science!
  • Marilyn , TEACHER

At Antioch University, she completed the Graduate Teacher Preparation program, receiving certification. She loves to get together with friends, cook, go to ethnic restaurants, watch movies, read, play music, and explore the Pacific Northwest. For Marilyn, seeing students develop confidence in their abilities is the best part about teaching at Sylvan!

  • Gregg, Tutor

    Gregg

    Tutor

Originally from North Dakota, and just making it over to the Seattle area, Gregg brings Sylvan of North Seattle a breath of fresh mid-west air! But what did Gregg do all the way over there? He got his BS in Computer Science, a BA in Journalism, and a delicious Masters in Information Systems Management. Crazy Smart! Gregg tutors in both Math and Reading here at Sylvan: both are problem solving skills that work hand-in-hand. He loves learning from students and, of course, seeing that "lightbulb moment". When Gregg isn't teaching he's reading, cooking, and practicing martial arts! What's so cool about Gregg? He was 6'2" when he was only 12 years old!

What's he doing now besides tutoring math and homework support here at Sylvan? Getting his biochemistry degree at the ever-famous UW! Kevin's goal is to motivate and pass on his knowledge to students seeking the same academic achievements that he was able to accomplish. When Kevin is not learning, he's playing video games and exploring nature.

Octavio loves music, his favorite being Latin and Classical. He loves to dance, travel, meet new people from different cultures and reading. He loves working at Sylvan because it gives him the chance to work with kids that are motivated and extremely smart. Fun fact about Octavio: He hates ALL spicy food, and does not enjoy American football! (Sorry, Seahawks)
