Our tutors and staff in North Spokane consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Spokane know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school. Get to know our tutors and staff in North Spokane!

    B.A. Communications, Masters in Teaching, Washington State University---Jeff enjoys the look in his students' eyes when they suddenly say, "Oh! I get it!"  He became a teacher so that he could participate in building solid foundations for his students. He started with Sylvan, North Spokane, in 2006, and tutors reading, math, writing and study skills.  Jeff is a 2nd degree Black Belt in taekwondo. He also enjoys reading and playing golf.

    B.A. in Education, Eastern Washington University---When Lee is teaching, she is also learning; and she hopes to inspire others to learn something new every day.  Lee began tutoring reading, math and writing at Sylvan, North Spokane, during the 2015-16 school year.  Lee is never bored, so she lists the following as her favorite spare time activities:  reading, walking, sewing, knitting, drawing, and painting.

    B.A. Elementary Education, Eastern Washington University---Sarah gains satisfaction in helping her students to succeed. She started teaching at Sylvan, North Spokane, during the 2016-17 school year.  She tutors reading and math.  in her spare time, Sarah enjoys being with family and friends, watching television, listening to music, knitting, reading, cooking and baking!

    Brittany is our Executive, Marketing and Community Relations Director for the Spokane, WA area.  Brittany is passionate about kids and she wants all children to enjoy learning.  She studied at Whitworth University and University of California, Davis. When Brittany isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her cleaning her house or binge watching Netflix.  Brittany has many animals. Two dogs (Newman & Maisey), 2 cats (Ballerina and Lucky) that are all super spoiled.
  • Michelle Wendle, Director of Education

    Michelle oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Spokane. A former teacher in Oregon, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of North Spokane. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with her BA in Education, and also graduated from WGU with her Masters in ES/ELL curriculum and Instruction. When Michelle isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her relaxing with her family or helping out her local non profits.  .

    Theresa is a reading specialist in Spokane, WA, with a gift for working with kids. While Theresa has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in "watching the light bulb" moments when a student grasps a new concept. She studied at Eastern Washington University with a degree in Elementary Education. When Theresa isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her enjoying the outdoors and playing with her dogs.

    Becky is a teacher in Spokane, WA with a gift for working with kids. While Becky has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in children's curiosity and enthusiasm. She graduated with her BA in Elementary Education from Michigan State University. When Becky isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her painting watercolor, taking long walks and reading.  
  • Erin Dyrud, Out of State Tutor

    Out of State Tutor

    Erin Dyrud is our virtual tutor located in Missoula, Montana. She teaches most of her students remotely. Erin was the Center Director for the Sylvan in Missoula before it shut down. She enjoys river rafting, boating and spending time with family.
