Our tutors and staff in The Woodlands and Magnolia consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Magnolia know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.   • Tracy Pratt, CENTER DIRECTOR

    CENTER DIRECTOR

    Tracy is a Center Director with years of experience in the education field, working with all types of students from Kindergarten to college-age. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio with EC-6 teaching certification, and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Sam Houston State University. Tracy is passionate about student learning and success and enjoys supporting Sylvan’s teachers in their impactful work with students. She also enjoys being outdoors, gardening, and exploring local parks and trails.

    DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

    Rachel is a Director of Education with years of experience in the early childhood education. Rachel is passionate about students gaining the foundation that they need to be success in school and everyday life. She enjoys supporting our teachers in their impactful work with students, as well as working with our staff to have outstanding customer service in all aspects of our business. She also enjoys sewing, quilting, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

    Danielle is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism.  She is also certified to teach English/Language Arts/Reading.  At the Sylvan of the Woodlands, she enjoys working with the students and helping them succeed their Academic Reading and Math Essentials programs.

    Danni Jenkins-Baker

    Danni is a graduate of Lamar University with a Masters of Education and Texas Tech with a Bachelor of Arts. Danni wants to make a difference for the children that she teaches and help them reach their greatest potential. She loves teaching but in her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling.

    Jody is an understanding and kind teacher at Sylvan Learning Center of the Woodlands and Magnolia. She enjoys learning and loves helping students learn new ideas. She earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education at the University of Houston – Victoria and earned a Masters in Special Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Jody holds teaching certifications in elementary education, elementary reading, special education, and teaching students with visual impairments. Outside of work, Jody enjoys reading, crocheting, spending time with family, and going to the beach.

    Yamilex is a motivated, fair, and positive teacher at Sylvan Learning Center of the Woodlands and Magnolia. She has always wanted to be an educator and understands that the ability to steer others toward success in their learning is worthwhile. She holds a Bachelors's and Master’s degree from Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice. Outside of teaching, Yamilex enjoys cycling, yoga, reading, and trying new coffee shops.

    CERTIFIED TEACHER

    Jean is a tutor at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with a passion for math. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Chemical Engineering. She has always wanted to be a teacher and has enjoyed teaching ever since she was a tutor at her high school and later at UMass Amherst. Outside of tutoring, Jean enjoys volunteering at non-profits such as the Women’s Center, animal welfare and family of rescued animals.

    Luis is a teacher at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with a passion for math and science. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology from Arizona State University, and is certified to teach high school mathematics and composite science. Outside of teaching, he enjoys biking, tennis and physical fitness.

    DeAnna is a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center of the Woodlands and Magnolia who loves working with kids. She attended Houston Community College and the University of Houston studying Early Childhood Development. DeAnna is an energetic, creative, dedicated tutor. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading, going to the gym, spending time with her daughter, and baking.

    Farzana is a tutor at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with a passion for math. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics from Oklahoma State University, and Mathematics from The University of Oklahoma. Farzana also has a Master of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Central Oklahoma and Applied Mathematics from University of Karachi. She has a passion for math which has led her into the field of teaching. Outside of teaching, she enjoys painting and badminton.

    Emily is a tutor at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with a passion for math. She is a graduate of Southwestern University with a Bachelor’s in Computational Mathematics. Emily got into tutoring because she loves explaining complicated math topics in a simple way to students. Outside of teaching, she enjoys video games and painting.

    Sabina has always wanted to help others learn and has had the desire since she was in 4th grade. Sabina attended the University of Houston for her Bachelors of Science in Education and Lamar University for her Master’s in Education. She holds teaching certifications in Secondary History and Physical Education, and a Principal certification for EC – 12th grade. Outside of work, Sabina enjoys being outdoors and hiking through the mountains. She is an outgoing, self-starter who is kind, loyal, and has integrity.

    Michelle is a teacher at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with over 16 years of experience in education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mount Olive in North Carolina. Michelle is easygoing, and outside of tutoring, she enjoys spending time with her daughters, shopping, and watching movies.

    Myra is a tutor at the Sylvan Learning Center in The Woodlands and Magnolia. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Youth and Community Studies. Myra wants to help students thrive as her teachers helped her in elementary school. Outside of Sylvan, Myra enjoys Marvel movies, baking, and Dungeons and Dragons.

    Austin is a tutor at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with a passion for history. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University where he majored in history and minored in education. He has a passion for helping students learn why history is interesting and important. Outside of teaching, he enjoys video games, painting, drawing, and cooking.

She holds an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University. Iris is certified to teach elementary and special education. Outside of Sylvan, Iris enjoys shopping and traveling.

    Peggy is a tutor at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia. She holds a Master’s degree in education and has teaching certifications in English, math, and special education. As an educator, she enjoys working with and learning from children. Outside of teaching, she enjoys gardening, reading, and walking.

    Dr. Rosemarie is a tutor at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with a passion for math. She holds a bachelor’s degree from MIT in Quantitative Biology, a Master’s in Biochemistry, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Chicago. Dr. Rosemarie has taught at the university level for her entire career. Outside of teaching, she enjoys horseback riding, sketching art, and traveling the world.

    Kristen is a happy and cheerful teacher at Sylvan Learning Center of the Woodlands and Magnolia. She loves to see students bloom into fluent readers and solve math problems independently. Kristen holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Academic Studies from Sam Houston State University. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and going to church.

    Tammy is a tutor at Sylvan of the Woodlands and Magnolia with over 23 years of experience in education. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English from Stephen F. Austin State University and has an English teaching certification for 6th-12th grades. Tammy is artistic and creative, and outside of tutoring, she enjoys writing, playing the keyboard, and studying languages.
